My ticket is booked, and I’ll be spending five days in March in London! I know I want to see Highgate Cemetry, and the Tate Modern, and stop into a Topshop to see if they still make my favorite lipstick, but otherwise I hope to just do a lot of wandering. 3 months ago

Within the next month, I should be booking a ticket to London! I’ll be staying with a friend, so airfare should be my biggest expense.

And, double-whammy, I’m looking for a job at a summer English camp so I can spend about a month abroad this summer, too. 5 months ago

Guys, I’m getting the travel bug something awful. The worst case I’ve had in YEARS. This is compounded by the fact that I cannot find a job (smug me thought that with a master’s and two years of experience, it’d be cake) and that I keep reading travel books, thinking maybe that’ll help scratch the itch (it doesn’t.)

Unless I get hired in the next couple of weeks, I have a new plan, which is to take a bullshit temp job or some such for a few months, work like mad, and just go teach abroad again for the spring semester. I have a lot of grandiose half-cocked travel ideas after that, but this one is definitely more doable without too much of my mom telling me to grow up.

I have a couple of good friends who live in London, and lately they’ve been all up in my business about coming to visit. It’s going to take levels of saving I’ve never before made work, but I’d really, really love to go visit them over my spring break next year. 12 months ago
