My partner and I are planning to move to Toronto in a few years. I’m going to nursing school so that I can have a guarantied job and ease the immigration process. He’s getting his degree in economics. It’ll take work, but hopefully it’ll happen!

How I did it: I was interested in going to Art School and I stumbled across a really good one in B.C. from there it was just applying to the school, being accepted, then applying for a student visa. I had to show proof of funds and find a place to live(which was probably the hardest part,) but it's a great experience so far... Read how I did it…

I fell in love with this country when my family and I travelled to Canada last year for my sisters 15th birthday.
Not sure when exactly,,
but this goal is some where in the future…
Hello!
I am in love with Canada and their beautiful culture. I would give anything to move up there but of course the system is stopping me. I have tried every angle, read every instruction but as the Canadian government sees it, they just don’t need another me. I have made a good career in printing and sales but they already have Canadians to fill those positions. I only have the choice of being a cabinet maker or brain surgeon, neither of which I’m good at. I’m 28 and would actually consider paying a Canadian to marry me.
Had to withdraw my application due to the new immigration rules.
Still not giving up, though.
Looks like I need to try find a job first.
empress19 really needs to claim her taxes back!
Im going to sort myself out for this now. Im ready to do this.

Houston, we are ready for countdown.
9th Jan 2009 will be the start of a new chapter for us. For sure.
They now have my application.
I’m not sure when it is going to be processed due to the new immigration rules that are meant to be announced, but it’s a step in the right (left!) direction.
we did a lot of research and were filling out paperwork and everything. but then we were deciding where to live, and we found that the little towns we loved on the east coast were so much like the little towns we’d be leaving behind in the u.s., so we looked more widely. we thought vancouver would be great, but that would take us too far from our families. so then we did a survey on findyourspot.com and it suggested we move to ithaca, ny, where we both went to college, where we met. so, after a lot of soul-searching, we decided to move here, and we did. and it’s wonderful. we’re still struggling with being u.s. citizens, and with our country’s economy and health care system and politics, but we’re closer to our families, and we love this town.
