In November of 2007, I was awaken with the vision of FACSA at 1 am. The visiona was to distribute a nation wide petition to close the loop holes in the pedophile laws and meet in Washington DC, which we will do October 31,2009, at 10 am, by the reflecting pool, at the Washington Memorial. I first thought this was an imposssible task. With no connections in this field, surely God must of had the wrong person. I got up, outlined the petition, and spent a year doing research on the loop hole laws. I wrotethe FACSA Bill and submitted it to legislation last November. They are meeting this month. I founded the FACSA organization to raise 45% of our funds for police internet sting operations; 45% for adequate legal counsel for children of sexual assault;10% for operational cost. We are having a bake sale for our first fund raiser. For a list of FACSA events go to facsasavethechildren.com and look under services. Our mission is to raise funds, community awareness, prevention, and education.
The Bake Sale will be a bake sale/ cooking competition between the kids ages 6-10,11-14,and 15-18.Prizes will be awardedfor each group. We will also pass out netsmartz cards and other educational materials.
Wish us luck and God speed!

Last week was complete and utter chaos, but I had the bake sale! I raised $230 for the charity. Nothing to sneeze about, since it was my first time. I’ve learned a lot of lessons for next year, like what sells and what doesn’t, what melts and what doesn’t, where to or not to have a bake sale, that recruiting is important and to plan many months before.
I got the fliers made! And put one up at the local library and one at the location of the bake sale. I’ve offered to e-mail friends and family the flier. I think my sister is putting one up in the teacher’s lounge at the school she teaches at. My next goal is to get more volunteers! I need more volunteers! People just don’t want to give up their valuable time to help out the less fortunate, as unfortunate as it sounds.
I’ve been working on the flier templates for my bake sale. I don’t have any volunteers to help sell with me, but one of my friends is donating money for my sale. I need to finish my list of who is baking and what they are baking, as well as my own list of what I’m baking.
I signed up to do a bake sale called the Great American Bake Sale to raise money for a charity called Share our Strength. The date is April 26. I have to get people to help bake for the bake sale, organize a team, decide what I’m going to bake and make it, and design fliers to put up so people know about my bake sale. It’s a lot to do!
