How I did it:
I had a similar goal about finding the definitions of words I didn't know and learning to use those words in a sentence and in conversation. I was bored and wanted to broaden my knowledge and thought focusing words I disliked sounded like a good idea at the time. I made a simple list of 10 words I knew right away and made an entry. After that I relied on finding words I came across in what I read or in speech and tried to make entries while the words were fresh in my mind. Read how I did it… 15 months ago
I have nothing against skunks themselves, really, just when they’re near the road and spray or when someone hits one and the body is left on the road for days. Not that I blame anyone for NOT going to scoop it—I wouldn’t even DRIVE near it if I could avoid it.
Otherwise… skunks are kinda cute, in a way, y’think?
Skunk (noun)
a small North American mammal, Mephitis mephitis, of the weasel family, having a black coat with a white, V -shaped stripe on the back, and ejecting a fetid odor when alarmed or attacked
Use it in a sentence:
Driving down the road and seeing the carcass in front of the car made the smell of skunk that much more rancid and disgusting. 15 months ago
And sadly not because of the creature it represents.
Troll (noun/verb, depending on use)
the act or an instance of trolling; a person who submits deliberately inflammatory articles to an internet discussion

“A troll by any other name is still a douche-bag.” – B. 16 months ago

For TechKat, and especially for reminding me of this word. Now that I’m reminded of it, it just sounds… uhm, ew?
Latrine (noun)
a toilet or something used as a toilet, as a trench in the earth in a camp, or bivouac area
Use it in a sentence:
Debbie had been given latrine duty at the campground that evening, and just the thought of it made her nose wrinkle in disgust. 19 months ago
I only dislike this because I could never pronounce it right. Still don’t, honestly. At least, not when I think it. I try to avoid saying the word out loud and so, then, I also avoid correction. Now if in about seven months you ask me what month it is, I may feign ignorance or stupidity.
February (noun)
the second month of the year, ordinarily containing 28 days, but containing 29 days in leap years
Use it in a sentence:
I suck at pronouncing February. 21 months ago
I’m guilty of the same, but I just hate this word, simply because it’s used to much anymore. Sure, I do it too, but all. The. Time.

Like (various forms)
corresponding or agreeing in general or in some noticeable respect; similar; analogous: drawing, painting, and like arts
Use it in a sentence:

Dunno what to do for a sentence on this one. Tried to think of an example using it the way it pissed me off. xD; 22 months ago
