seasonala job well done, can let this goal sit for a bit

Just officially accepted Edinburgh.

I have to do a criminal record check for both of these places, book accommodation and sort out other details… but I think I can leave all of that sit at least until the end of my medicine rotation… I’m tired. 15 months ago

seasonalNepal secured

Just got an email back saying our elective in Nepal has officially been secured. I am so very happy about that :) 15 months ago

seasonalreply

I got a reply from Edinburgh today, I have decided to do Haematology in Edinburgh.

I am a little sad that I am not doing paediatrics, but the haem hospital is in the centre of Edinburgh and close to the Nightlife and vibe, whereas the Paeds hospital is 1 hour out of the city.

I can do paeds anytime; but living and exploring Edinburgh is a once in a lifetime opportunity – so I’m going to take it :) 16 months ago

seasonalapplication recieved

Edinburgh has received my application, just got this back

“Thank you for sending your application. I will contact you once I have started to process it. At the moment there is a bit of a backlog due to the high number of applications.”

I hope, I hope I get paediatrics, wish I had gotten my stuff together and applied last year… oh well. 16 months ago

seasonalsent off finally

I just sent off my application for Edinburgh, now just get to sit back and wait for a reply :) 16 months ago

I was getting a bit worried when they didn’t reply to my emails, but its back on track now :) 17 months ago

seasonalreply from nepal

Got a reply from supporting agency in Australia. There is a fair bit of admin stuff we have to do before we go. It all sounds very straight forward. Very exciting :) 19 months ago

seasonalfirst email out

emails INF Australia. If they don’t respond I’ll email the other two organisations.

Also I think its about time that I started putting money away as well. I have just transferred $600 across to savings. I’ll make up a savings goal soon. 20 months ago

seasonalpartner organisation

next step is to find a partner organisation in australia to support us. I’ll get this done this week. 20 months ago

seasonalnepal accepted

We have been pencilled in for Feb for Nepal, now we have to approach a partner organisation in Australia to support us

People have reassured me that organisations, like Dublin, taking a long time to respond is completely normal. So I’m just going to chill for a bit. :) 20 months ago

seasonalUntitled

No reply from Ireland, so I sent another email. Hopefully I’ll get something.

I have already gone through london hospitals and chosen ones that pique my curiosity. I think if I don’t get a reply by the end of next next week I’ll hit up London.

sigh… I really wanted Dublin… oh well. 20 months ago

seasonalemailing funtimes

Emailed a few places in Ireland

Got a few replies from Nepal. All very exciting stuff.

I hope it all falls into place :) 21 months ago

S emailed INF about doing an elective in Nepal. Now I just need to look at some UK places. 22 months ago

seasonalshall have to move up the priority list

So I started looking into some UK electives, only to find I won’t be eligible for a lot of them, and some I have already missed the cutoff dates.

Ick

I will definitely have to start organising this elective soon. After the papers get accepted for publication, this goal will be more of a priority. 22 months ago

seasonalNepal!

I have decided to spend my first 4 weeks in Nepal with another girl from my course

I’m pumped!

If that falls through then I’m thinking India/Burma :) 22 months ago
