This will be one of my goals for Saturday…print/frame at least eight photos AND hang them on the wall in my dining room. I’ll consider this goal accomplished when I have no more than three empty photo frames in my house (of course I’m only counting the frames that I would actually display).

    Done it! 2 years ago

    Wow… what a feeling!

Today I framed two more of the large prints I had done. One was a moody black and white shot, so I went for a dark frame… the other was of a fawn, so a lighter frame.

I really don’t know where to hang them yet, so I’ve just put them up on the first available hooks. Even now it looks great even though I haven’t thought about it.

Yay me! I don’t want to be big-headed, but when my work is up on my walls, it feels so wonderful.

    3 more 2 years ago

I’ve ordered three more prints (2 in 12×16 format as before, and one smaller 5-inch format). Once they’re framed up and hanging, I’ll mark this done. It’s a great way to feel good about your photography!

    OMG! 2 years ago

Framing a print is like… er… putting gravy on sunday roast. No… it’s like magic golden gravy. I know that the original has to be good to start with, but in a frame it looks AWESOME!

So… if you didn’t guess, I went out and bought a frame at lunch time. The 12×18 picture fits into a 12×16 aperture in a something like 16×20 frame. That is BIG. Really BIG.

I purposefully picked an image I could crop horizontally, so the 18-inch width partly hides behind the 16 inch aperture.

But it looks FANTABULOUS! And I must immediately find some more of my photos for printing super-big.

Won’t mark it done yet because the goal is some photos.

    Back! 2 years ago

I’m back… seven months ago, I was in a place of low confidence and I guess that’s part of the reason I gave up.

Well… I really do want to do this. I’ve had a 12×18 inch print made, and need to get hold of a frame… then I can hang it.

A huge step, and once I’ve done one of them, the process will become trivial and I’ll do more. I even know where my picture-hanging kit is at home… exciting!

    Dropping 3 years ago

Dropping the goal, but still intending to frame photos. I will return with a quantifiable, time-limited goal when I have one available :)

    Go! 3 years ago

I need to take a big dose of ‘get on with it’ and … well … get on with it. I could be earning money from my photos already if I could just get some printed and framed.

Maybe not much, but it would be a confidence boost as well as a pocket-money earner.

But I would then have to do my own finances… and since I can’t manage to do wifey’s on time, I need to be more organised!

Printed and framed some pictures I took of the Grand Canyon last summer.

I’ve picked up a book Photoshop Color Correction by Michael Kieran which explains in detail how to edit photos for print – it’s way different than editing for viewing on a screen from the internet.

I’ve done a test print tonight, and it’s vastly improved over anything I’ve printed before, so it looks like I might be on my way to achieving this goal before too long.

As part of my goal to have my photos displayed in a public place, I need to get some large prints made and frame them. Once I understand this process fully, I can more confidently offer photos for display or sale.
