Oh, but who to write letters to? No one I know writes letters, they didn’t even write to me while I was at boot camp. I fucking hate technology, it drives us apart.

I want to write a good ol’ fashioned letter to someone.

    all those years ago…!
I would like to resume writing letters to family and friends because I think it’s nice to get a letter in the post. A nice stamp, nice stationery, handwriting and silly little gifts included.
    Even postcards.
I really don’t write any letters or postcards at all because it’s all about texting and emailing these days.
Still would prefer to receive a letter or a card than an email or a text. More personal and more exciting.

pretty paper, pretty ribbons 3 months ago

I’m writing a few more notes tonight before hitting the hay and tomorrow after I drop them in the post . . . I’m moving this goal to the ‘DONE THAT’ column.

I’ve gotten into the habit of writing AND SENDING letters, notes and cards and have a supply of stamps to keep me honest!

    A book and random notes . . . 3 months ago

Bought that book of stamps and dropped the random (and thank you) notes in the post yesterday. Letter to follow

Notes, notes and more notes 3 months ago

I began last weekend, jotting down a few sweet notes to family. That was before my father-in-law lost his battle with cancer and died on Monday night. I didn’t realize at the time that his death would impact so many of my goals. I’ve written the obligatory thank you notes tonight and will go to the post office tomorrow @ noon to buy stamps and send them away.

While this isn’t really what I had in mind when I said ‘write more letters,’ I think it still works. While I am at the post, I’ll pick up an extra book of stamps, so I’ll have them handy. My problem is generally not the writing, but the mailing. Those days of writing letters and stashing them in a drawer (I’ve done that since elementary school-terrible habit) are over.

Next on the correspondence agenda: write a nice long LETTER-not a note or a line or a few sweet sentiments. I’m talking a long, newsy, chatty-kathy letter on real stationery (with a watermark). I’ll let you know how that goes.

I think, in anticipation of that, I’ll ask all my facebook buddies to help me update my snail-mail address book so I’ll have the information when I decide to do my writing.

so pretty . . . oh so pretty 3 months ago

I plundered through the stationery racks this w/end and bought oodles and oodles of note cards . . . reminded me of the days when I’d send out 6 or 8 cards a week. I pulled those cards out tonight . . . in my grief . . . and made sharpie notes to the ones I love. Step 1 . . .

    Paper slut . . . 3 months ago

I am a paper slut for goodness sake. I have a THING for paper; I go ga-ga for a creamy sheet of watermarked excellence; have a love affair with cardstock and patterned papers! I make beautiful paper works of art . . . people PAY me to make note cards, bday cards, every kind of card you can imagine and yet . . . I can’t REMEMBER the last time I put a stamp on a REAL envelope and dropped it in the post.

My goal is to send one card or letter per week. No cheating, hand delivery NOT allowed and business correspondence doesn’t count. Let’s see how this goes. Wish me luck!

    PS: I am a writer . . . go figure!

I am horrible at keeping up correspondences. But I don’t want any angry relations. By the end of the month, I must have written a letter or e-mail to:
1)My aunt and uncle in Hungary
    2)My cousin Gyongyi

Letter writing up to par 6 months ago

I wrote a number of letters in 2007, one to a new acquaintance I just met, another to an old friend with whom I revived a friendship via the Internet.
