How I did it: My grandma hadn´t seen me since I was 10, so she paid for my ticket and my stay. I´m staying in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina. It´s very fun here.Because of globalization, they like the same movies, video games, music and clothing as in the States. The things that are great is that groceries are a fraction of the price, and certain foods such as meat and dairy are fresher. As for the culture, the people here are welcoming… Read how I did it…

After 2010 I’d LOVE to see South America! Maybe hiking around would be good; I don’t know the ropes, and going alone seems daunting but perhaps I could find a travel partner. Or just get the guts to go alone. I already have the lonely planet guide book for SA and every now and then I look through it, dreaming of seeing the places there.
I am flying to Lima, Peru in June and coming back in July. I would love to make it to Argentina and Brazil, but don’t know if I have enought time. Any thought?
I’ve been to Argentina and Bolivia as a baby, but that doesn’t really count. I’m an adult and now I can enjoy the culture, speak with the natives, and spend time with my family.
I am half Argentinian and I’m getting in touch with half my family and my culture. I leave on the 23rd and I’ll tell you about it when I get back.
For decades I have wanted to visit Ecuador. I first became fascinated with the country when the missionaries were killed there by the tribe then known as the Aucas.
The story of forgiveness by the surviving family members is captivating. It is captured in the movie, The End of the Spear.
letsgoahora3 is trying to figure out my life!! Haha.
I have been saying for years that I want to travel. I know a little spanish but want to learn more. I am ready and have some time and a little money and would love to go. I guess I am not as brave as I thought. I would really like someone to go with. I would go today. If you have any interest let me know!!
I’m heading up a charity ride from Portland, Oregon, USA to Tierra del Fuego and back. The goal is to raise a ton of money to help treat childhood diseases. If you want to get involved (riding with us, supporting the charity, etc.) check out RideSouth.org. It’s a work in progress right now, but we’re getting everything up as fast as we can!
I spent a month travelling through Chile (Latin Am’s Super power) and then crossing through to the continent’s poorest country: Bolivia
My Spanish is pretty good, and it helped me get so much more out of my trip. I met some fantastic people on the way, and will write a blog about it soon. Amazing diversity.
Learn a bit of Spanish if you want to uncover the real S.America though. Bolivia is amazing.
Ibetolis wants to watch Night Moves!
A couple of years back I spent a year out in Asia and now I would love to go to South America. I think I’m going to have to wait a few years but mark my words I’m coming.
