btw when i own the bike, i need to use it. it is repaired now and i had them put my anatomic seat that i already owned. 1 month ago

yay! my clothes fit me again! some of it brand new. no need to go shopping. i’m sorry for my cord trousers i gave away, i ment i would never ever fit into it, now i could use it.
i never understand those people in makeover shows that tell folks to get rid of to small clothes. so when they lose weight, they can treat themselves with new clothes. oh yeah!
well i treated myself with my own clothes and spared my wallet, double treat.
i’m very happy for not giving away my nickers, all brand new! (i purchased and gained weight soon afterwards.) i can’t beleive i can wear them. i only need to wash them since many years had passed by since. 6 months ago

now i need to figure out some gym footwear that is close to barefoot and affordable. i have found something but half size too small. 10 months ago

this sounds too extreme, but i still brush and floss my teeth and i can see and feel no difference. i think when i run out of mouthwash that i will make my own, but will see that. 10 months ago

it was so affordable and feels so good. it only needs some minor alterations that i can do on my own. but it is good this way, too.
not that i’m for cheap clothes, but i’m relativly close to my target weight so don’t want to invest into something i will wear only briefly. 10 months ago

i switched from the SoyZone diet to Blood Type 0 diet. meaning, switched to protein sources that are noticeably more affordable. given up whole food groups (big savings) while introducing other food groups that are more affordable. 10 months ago

the other day i draw a rute to my work on endomondo (actualy used part of somebodys route that i saw there to draw mine) and discovered it is significantly shorter that one google proposed.
not that i seriously consider commuting, it seams as too much fuss, but one day, who knows? 14 months ago

at amazon and other places there is plenty of free and very discounted e-books.
i’m still purchasing printed books, but only when there is no e version available.
and we also do not extend printed magazine subscriptions.
thinking of scannning my printed books but it is a LT project.
discovered callibre for organizing my e-library and like it very much. 14 months ago

i’m not that rich to buy cheep stuff!
my brand of choice – Benetton (since I’m tall) – is not that expensive, and when i purchase an item, i really have it and wear it for years!
...days of bargains and “good deals” with full rods and nothing to wear are long gone.
purchasing everything at single shop also means that everything i own goes well together; and i don’t spend at any other place, saves time & money. meaning even abroad, when i go shopping, i only go there. makes my shopping very simple. i also have only one shoe brand. 14 months ago

i use only one that i have for free, only in special occasions and pay it in full.
(well, it’s been several years from than, and i’m still paying the loan for my credit card-bills-overdraft debth so i really learned my lession. yet loan itself has smaller interest than credit card and overdraft.)
i use my debit card for all my transactions, no overdraft any more, and getting balance via SMS daily really simplified my finances.
and collecting no free miles forces us to no trips we wouldn’t otherwise do, that leads to further savings.
(...although that huge shopping in Cologne was huge savings in itself, since all that goodies we purchased cost double here…) 14 months ago

they charged me monthly for stuff i even’t dont use! so i canceled it, and instead took another service for a really small fee, and that is to SMS my balance to my phone at each change of balance. that way i allways aware of my balance. 14 months ago

joined sports club for a yearly fee and use their swimming lane in alloted time for free, and almost 50% discount for personal trainer. that way i have swimming pool acess and personal trainer for the price only 1 cup of coffee above i would otherwise pay for getting into pool. and since i don’t dink coffee at all, i joke that i get personal trainer for free! 14 months ago

i purchased quality scissors (for price of one haircut). my hair is long so i simply lean over, comb it thoroughly over my head and cut. that way it has layers. i lelarned how to do my bangs that are not just cut in a straight line (should do it more regular).
and besides, the only hairdresser i was satisfied with in my entire life, doesn’t work any more in that saloon (and i don’t know where she is now).
i also cut my SO hair (but he has long hair and allways has a ponnytail to it is easy) and he trims his beard by himself. 14 months ago

it’s been several months now, my hair is totaly OK and my life so much easier! i simply use clear water and that’s it. sometimes baking soda and apple vinegar rinse. no need to strip everything from my scalp with some chemicals and than put another chemicals onto my hair to replace that was stripped away.
in my ‘poo days my hair was oily and tended to get dandruff. and it lacked volume. all of that is history. 14 months ago

i rarely do those things, i should do that more often. 14 months ago

i discovered i don’t have to eat “lunch”, i can eat breakfast instead. i have cereals and protein powder and cinnamon at work so at leat i can eat these.
i also stashed my desk with cans for those day’s i don’t bring anything to work. i mix can of tuna fish in brine, with can of lentils, and season it with seasoning i keep at work. it works.
of course it is best to bring fresh fruit and veggies and some lean protein to work. 14 months ago

I read about this way that some folks were saving through non-traditional methods. This system basically calls for you to save every $5 bill you have. So I put mine in a big milk jar that I have. Its kind of fun too. 15 months ago

I send out care packages to 8-10 nieces/nephews/mentees 3 or 4 times a year. I did their valentine’s day packages this week and I really downsized. I bought the small mailers and just gum and 3 bags of candy. I didn’t do cards, just notes on the back of one of my business cards. I used to do these huge mailers full of candy and goodies but..1. They don’t care, I think they are just happy to get something and 2. They don’t really care and 3. I’m tired of spending all that energy on a low impact activity and 4. It was a great/easy way to cut some $.
I probably saved at least $50.
Candy/Gum =$18
Postage = $20.19
Packaging = $6.44
Total spent=$44.63
In the past I would have easily spent $100. I am proud of myself on a couple of levels. 1. Getting better at knowing when “enough” is enough and 2. Being more deliberate about how I spend my time, money and energy and 3. Still being generous and toughtful and caring. 16 months ago

Lately I have been letting my outer garments air dry instead of putting them in the dryer. At first it was to prolong the longevity of my clothes, but I am digging using less electricity and fewer of those dryer sheets. 23 months ago

I am motivated by wanting to a) buy a car that I am getting a GREAT deal on, but I want to pay cash and pay it off as fast as possible, b) I want to eliminate my consumer debt which isn’t much, but i’d like to have it complete by My 39th birthday and c) I want to relocate to DC by September 1st, 2012. I am trying to keep these things in mind as I pull out my cash and credit cards to accomplish these three goals.
