Finish my unfinished projects

Finished my cross stitch! 2 years ago

These two cross stitch pictures have taken around 15 years (!) to complete as I started them when I was quite small. Very proud to have them framed and displayed at last! Although I received two more kits for Christmas, so have in fact replaced this unfinished project with two more, although they don’t count yet as I haven’t started them.

Quilts 3 years ago

Most of my unfinished projects are quilts. I donated fabric to the local quilt guild that I didn’t think I would use-they make kids quilts and donate them to charities. I also had an almost finished quilt that I knew I wouldn’t finish so I donated that too. I also am nearing completion on two other quilts. I like the space I’m starting to see in my sewing closet!

I wonder 3 years ago

I wonder if I should give up on this all together and throw all the projects out the window. I should just let them go but there’s something about wanting to finish them that appeals to me, like a reason TO BE. Like a life meaning behind them, when the only meaning these little projects have is probably hold me back from doing important things.

I wonder if I should make a list of the projects and, instead of postponing them because they are not an emergency, I should try to tackle them and see. My fear is that there’s always something more important to do than the projects, yet another fear is that I will be giving up something really fun to do – why do I think that? It makes no sense. It’s a self defeating behavior.

What to do? Maybe the first step is to decide which of these 2 ways to go.

Making a start on the Holiday Scrapbook 3 years ago

I should mention that this isn’t a Scrapbook in the ‘scrapbooking’ sense of the word but more like a diary, not really using photographs but using tickets, ephemera, postcards, pictures from brochures and magazines etc. I have three holidays which I don’t have a scrapbook for, Paris, Florida and Berlin. Today I completed Paris (well, it was only 2 pages) and I have made a good start on Florida. Really pleased!
