I decided to start eating more organic foods. I love Trader Joe’s and they have cheap goods, so I’‘ll try to get a bulk of my stuff from them. The only problem is that I don’t live near one and I don’t have a car, so I have to lug it all back to my apartment via the train. I’ll supplement my groceries with Whole Foods and Fresh Direct. These two options can be expensive, but at least Fresh Direct delivers.

well, i made this goal today and went out and bought a few bits! im eating mostly organic now, if not, then 100% natural without additives etc. It’s so so expensive i don’t think i can afford to buy everything org, also not all of it is that fresh which of course prevents me from buying.

Luda For every thing there is a season
I live near the orange groves and every so often they would spray oranges with chemicals to keep the bugs from eating them in addition to that the groves would be spayed for weeds every so often and every year they would spray oranges with something that stops their development because the price is down, so they would spray them to keep them from maturing until the price go back up. Just want to let you know this, it is the standard practice for all agriculture, but the chemicals would slowly cause major damage to your health. I myself will not be living here to long because of the soil getting polluted by all these poisons.

This has become something we are striving to do. Lot’s of things have inspired us to try organic foods and the change in our bodies and minds have sold us completely. It costs a fortune but we make sacrifices to be able to take care of ourselves. It’s worth it. Since we made this change I think about all the years we put so many unhealthy things into our bodies. Just thinking about some of the things I’ve eaten makes me feel sick. It’s been a hard change for my son but I’m giving him a gift that he doesn’t even realize yet. I always thought that it was silly to pay more for organic foods when you could get regular food for half the price but I’ve definitely seen the error of my ways. It’s so important and so worth the extra money.

I'm trying...
I recently read the book “In Defense of Food” by Michael Pollen and since then have really been trying to incorporate more organic, local and wild foods into my diet. I’ve been shopping at my local farmer’s market and things have been going well…hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up!

Genetically modified foods? No thanks. It’s gonna cost a fortune, but hey, my daughter won’t reach puberty at 9 years old and with any luck we’ll be around to see her graduate from college by eating real food.

I’m looking forward to moving back to California next month as this will be easier to do there—yay farmers markets! I’m more motivated than ever now that I also have a kid to think about. I want to be more mindful of what we put into our bodies, period.

Lori Is playing the 'hurry up and wait' game
I can’t afford to eat all organic at this point in my life, but I eat as much as I can. I have to say I’ve been healthier for it too, considering how many food sensitivities I have to chemicals and preservatives…

I cannot afford all organic, and I am divided between eating something with the “organic” symbol or eating locally grown food. Until I’m able to afford to do both (and live in a place where both are offered), I am at least trying to eat the following foods as organic:
Meat, milk, yogurt, tomatoes, celery, carrots, coffee, grapes

I was never into eating organic foods because I didn’t really believe it was any different than eating any ordinary food. I mean, why spend MORE money on something I can buy for half the price of something organic.
Then, I actually tried oragnic foods and I love everything about eating organically. Not only do I fell 100% more better when I eat organically, but managing my weight has never been easier. Now buying these foods are more expensive so i cannot buy everything organic. I want to be able to find delicious recipies that include organic/all natural meals for myself. I live alone, so I do not need a fest every night. I just would like to know what other people have tired and maybe share some of thier ideas.
Thanks alot.
Autumn
