I haven't been doing this 3 years ago

I have been making notes of words I would like to learn, but I haven’t really had the time to dedicate to this goal lately. I hope to come back to it.

My sentence:
I made a shoebox model of my yard with a bricolage of toothpicks, yarn, buttons and other items in my junk drawer.

My sentence:
Brian’s mother was very reserved and respectful during the meeting, but she stonewalled as soon as the principal suggested her son should be suspended.
