Walking home the other evening I saw a fairly small frog sitting on the pavement. On a Greater London street. Beautiful green.
Here’s a photo, but without the flash as I didn’t see the point in startling it.
It is there! Honest. I wasn’t hallucinating.14 months ago

For the last few days I’ve been feeling very down. Depressed, one could even dare suggest. All this self-centred thoughts while the poor little BlackKitty isn’t best and certainly suffering. (I’m sure she’s purred about this elsewhere, so won’t mind my saying that.)
Anyway, today on the bus I passed by a little windy road that has always caught my attention. I figured I’d note it here as I’ve been so preoccupied with being negative that a little entry here might help. Like a ray of sun shining through the constant clouds.
This road is quite long, windy (curvy) and was probably a dirt track until the 70s. It runs kind of parallel, in a very crooked fashion, along the main road. The name of this road is a beauty ‘Crooked Usage’. How great is that? It leaves you wondering what the road originally had a reputation for, in order to have gotten that name. Makes me smile when the bus announces on the tannoy the next stop is ‘Crooked Usage’ and the street sign is too cute.
Ah, what a nice little thing to find in the street.
Get better little BlackKitty.

Down my road in the eaves of a house is are two little nests. Last year they housed the tiniest, sweetest little house Martins (like swallows).
For the past month I’ve been looking up at this nest, waiting, expectantly. Today I saw that the house martins have now returned and some more cute little chicks would soon be on the way.
Made me smile again. 23 months ago

Yes! I was sat alone in the forecourt of a little pub that run along a quiet road. Sun was shining and I was happily sitting alone for half an hour having a cranberry juice. A lovely compliment came my way and has totally made my week.
A kind looking man passed by on his way to the bar. He stopped and introduced himself politely and shook my hand with sincerity. His accent rolled beautifully in a cute Jamaican accent, “You look gorgeous sitting there. May I buy you a soda? Do you have a husband or boyfriend?”
Wow. How to make someone’s week! Especially when that certain emu’s been stood up twice yesterday by two different people! (yes, really.)
I thanked him very much, but kind of lied saying I had a boyfriend, so he’d leave me alone. (There were 3 of them sat there and I’d never have touched the drink, just in case.) It was such a lovely something to come my way along that street! 2 years ago

On my usual walk to the local woods I pass by a large house. It’s recently been re-everythinged: builders, painted bright white, roof extension, everything new to sell. This huge modern house sits empty. Shutters pulled to and empty as possible. BUT once every while you walk by and hear extremely loud drum practice going on. Someone’s a very keen drummer. somehow the noise is beyond what you’d think possible. especially by this open space of a park it’s next to.
Last week as I walked by the wall of this expensive, remodelled house I saw some graffitti written in charcoal on the side exterior wall to this new house. I couldn’t stop laughing. Photo attached. 2 years ago
