for equality for those who practice homosexuality or bisexuality. i meant to go last year but i missed it due to illness and i really want to make sure i go this year.
ok, i have to say this because i dont believe people understand the difference in treatment of people due to sexuality. people have been refused jobs, rented housing, given lower pay, or refused insurance due to their sexuality. but the main thing that really disgusts me is people who had a partner of the same sex that has passed away, have no legal right to have input in regards to the funeral services as they are not regarded as a legal partner! family have sole control to the ‘wishes’ of the deceased.
this really gets to me as those who are the in a relationship of the same sex have just as much love as those in a heterosexual relationship.

the_naked_writer is sleeping...hopefully.

Oh, that was wonderful! I think it’s been at least 3 years since I made it to the parade, and shame on me. We had a marvelous time – Isak loved it, and wrangled pride beads out of several people.

Beautiful, colourful, energetic, entertaining… and I took so many photos, I couldn’t pick (so here are a bunch). The day was absolutely gorgeous (although I’ve burned one of my shoulders a bit – ow) and I must have walked for miles.

Fan-freaking-tastic! Pride-eriffic! Gay-lorious!
And 380,000 people!

Well, perhaps I can move this from my ‘given up’ to my ‘done this’ list after all. The parade is today & I’m planning to head off with Isak in about an hour. Hopefully he’ll find sparkly drag queens on stilts entertaining. There are sure to be motorcycles.

Ah, if only spreading love & acceptance (or at least tolerance, for some) was as simple as taking someone to a fantastic parade…

Special congratulations to George & Christopher, who are getting married today…

London 4 lyfe 2 years ago

So I went to the one in London but still..it was awesome. Mostly because I went to drool over John Barrowman and Graham Norton :D Could it get any better?!

Not this year… 3 years ago

We had planned on going to the Pride parade & Sunset Beach fest., but we’re all too pooped (or grumpy from new teeth working their way out) to go downtown & party with 200,000+ people. There’s always next year…
