I dont know how to skate, but i know how to stick handle so i know that wont be a problem. The other thing is….who to help me learn how, cause my boyfriend(hockey player) is too busy working all the time, and i dont know who to go to. I dont have a car yet, so its kinda hard for me to get where i want to go all the time, and i feel bad when people have to come get me, so i dont want them to feel obligated to pick me up if i say i will go with them to skate. So yea, thats my dilema right now! lol

Hockey looks like a lot of fun, and I have always wanted to learn how to play. The skating & handling the puck isn’t an issue though :P. Lol. Oh well, I’ll learn it eventually. ;)
I know HOW to play Hockey, its a question of doing it and learning how do to some of the things that I recognize by sight but haven’t tried to emulate yet. In-line would be my thing, but I have to find a league or something in the area for that…
So, the fiance plays hockey. He;s a goalie. I’m at games all the time, and there are a few girls in his league… i think i could do it. one of these days i;ll have the cash.
Learn to play hockey.
Steps so far:
GOAL ACHIEVED! First season of summer league is over. I did incredibly well for just jumping on the ice without knowing the rules.
What next?
Looking into winter league on a travel team. Would like to play with a consistent team that practices.
I scored twice in a game last weekend. OK, both passes to me were great, but it was still pretty exciting!
hockey is the best way to burn calories, tone up, and have fun doing it. I’ve been playing for just under a year and loving every minute of it!!
Make sure you can skate first…it’ll make learning the sport that much easier!
You can learn to play at any age. Just take it easy and set reasonable goals for yourself. I know a number of adults who have gone from not being able to skate, to being able to participate in a competitive game. It can be done!
