almost half way..reading books should not be chore
How to read 100 years of solitude

"Mesmerizing"
How I did it: One page after the next -- luckily they were full of wonder and easy to turn. I had the book for a long time and because of it's stellar reputation was a bit worried about picking it up. I wasn't sure it would be fun to read -- but when it was the assigned reading for a book club I started and found it really easy to get into.
Lessons & tips: Read the first 1/3 before you put it down and forget about some of the traditional plot stuff. It's a great book

I started reading this book when I was fifteen; I stopped on my own because I realized that I wasn’t yet old enough to appreciate it as I should. Now that I am, I haven’t yet had the time to go back to it.

was a little confusing at times due to the names but the story was nice. i’d imagine it would be better in its original language.

If you are able, read it in Spanish. The way the words flow is absolutely breathtaking!
This is a great book to open your mind to magical realism.
