I am currently reading Thich Naht Hanh’s book The Miracle of Mindfulness, which is helping to remind me how important the present moment is, and how to stay “in” (with consciousness) the present :)
How I did it: I took a 10-day course Vipassana Meditation in Pecatonica, Illinois. My boyfriend had done this course a few months earlier and when I saw the results, I just thought that I had to experience this! So I registered online and a few $$ and planning later, I went! It was such an interesting experience! Read how I did it…

How I did it: Usually after my morning and evening prayers I lay quietly for no less than 5 minutes.Prayer for me is asking or talking with the God of my understanding and Meditation is hearing his reply.I meditate anywhere. In a car, restaurant, the grocery store. I just talk with god in my head, think of happy thoughts it's quite easy if i want it. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Meditating keeps the day balanced and peaceful. Should anything unexpected occur, it's much easier to handle the situation from a place of higher perspective. I highly recommend it. Read how I did it…

I did get a chance to meditate last night, so let’s see how today goes. I feel exhausted because I didn’t get enough sleep, but I feel a little more focused.
I’ll get more sleep tonight and tomorrow will be my REAL first start.
I have a meditation CD that my mother bought for me last semester when finals were starting and it really helped with my stress level. I’m going to try and make listening to the CD a habit, then wean myself off of the CD so I can meditate alone when I don’t have my iPod on me (which, admittedly, is rare).
I’m interested to see how this will help. I’ve been feeling very depressed and worried lately and I think calming my mind will help somewhat. I’ll keep you all posted and – if it helps – give you the name of the CD!
Happy meditating!
I’ve bought a book and signed up for a class in meditation. I tried this morning with instruction from the book I bought, it was very enlightening and made me feel better prepared to face the day.

Meditate on the 8/15 dream and the 1/16 dream. Meditate on nothing, because it’s good for my brain. Practice acknowledging suffering & releasing fury. Sustain awareness of the necessity of mindful action.
perilisk kinda never sleeps... sigh.
So that should keep me busy and set me ready. I know it’s a tough class but I think I need drastic methods.

I need to meditate really bad … I have a tendency to be stress at times even though I don’t show it much ….nervous tension energy amplified within me kinda like a rush while riding in a rolller coaster ride! how fun would that be huh? ...except when your brain needs haywiring to think and focus right through! Been taking Youtube meditation techniques and tutorials…really really helpful check it out if you guys like it.
summerpast trying not to let the gloomy weather affect my mood
Stress adds years to your life…I may be 19 years old but I feel like a 50 year old woman.
To me, meditating might be that one answer to a lot of my problems.
Mediatation keeps you connected with that one suprme power( if it exists at all). caught between a state of flux and fluidity, meditation heled me to be comfortable in that state. I became much more calm, accepted the world as it was… just helped me accept the harsh realities of my life… ( they dont seem harsh anymore)

“Hi everyone! Well I'm new here and I've been interested in doing this. Typed it in and found the topic. My main question is: What should I do, and how should I do it? I'm 17 ... Do I need any special music or anything like that? Thanks! :)”
