In the past week, I’ve heard separately from three different 43ers offsite about my having been the centre of drama that I was not aware of at the time.

The first had to do with a birthday wish that I had made a couple months ago. The recipient had been contacted by “several” people via PM and phone calls about my wishes to this person, and their interpretations of how I was putting her down or chastising her.

Even though I know people will believe what they want to believe, let me state for the record that my birthday wishes are never intended to be taken negatively. I write them from a place of support and encouragement. I realize that in this forum you can attribute any kind of tone to my words that you want since you cannot hear me speak them. I can tell you that the people I write birthday wishes for are people I respect and like, and that if I don’t like someone I’m not going to write a birthday wish for them.

The second situation had to do with some 43ers expressing their disgust with me and questioning another 43er’s friendship with me. Apparently to one of these 43ers I’m a condescending asshole who thinks I’m better than everyone else. I apologize if I’ve ever given anyone the impression that I’m better than you. I know I have faults and am not perfect. Just look at my goals and you’ll see that I’m working to improve myself. Again I think this comes down to someone adding a tone to my words that isn’t there when I wrote them. People can read what I write with a positive, negative or neutral tone. That’s their right, and not one that I would try to take away from them. My entries about watching the neighborhood watchers is just my opinion and utilizing my right of free expression. I am not forcing anyone to vote the way I would vote. I am asking people to think and examine before voting.

The third situation I don’t know how many people were involved in because I don’t necessarily trust the person who sent the attacking email. According to this person, I’m a puppet of the Robots for taking their side in Buttongate and the release of subscriber data. I guess this person hasn’t seen my disagreements with Robot JoshP or Robot Joe on the site, or read my entries in the Watchmen goal about me being pissed at the Robots for not truly drawing a line in the sand and defining what they want and don’t want. According to this email, there was a large contingent of people who were trying to work the system to get me suspended because of this but that the Robots wouldn’t do it because I’m in their pocket. I don’t even know how to respond to this.

So anyway, it seems like I’ve been the centre of drama a number of times while being oblivious to it. Again my apologies to anyone who reads my entries and comments with a negative tone or as condescending. With the exception of the people who I have blocked for personal attacks on me, I do not recall ever having intentionally responded to someone with a negative tone. 22 months ago
