About 2 weeks ago, my husband decided to join me on my quest for better health. He’s really stuck with it! He proudly sends me messages about the healthy groceries he’s purchased and how much he’s been working out (work forces us to live separately right now). Reporting in to each other every day has really helped us both stay on track!
And, what’s really surprising, is the small changes my mom is quietly making. She and my dad like to chuckle about my “food nazi” tendencies, how I eat too many vegetables and cook without fat and stick to organics and whole grains, etc. But, I’ve noticed my mom seems to have more and more organics in her fridge and has started serving more vegetables with her meals too. When we went out to lunch last week, she actually took the skin off her chicken before eating it! We never speak about it, I don’t want to embarrass her or act like I invented vegetables or something, but I’m so happy. This is so awesome for her health! She has a number of heart and circulatory problems, so it’s important for her to eat well.
