Just recorded Frost’s Fire and Ice for the weekly short poetry. Woohoo.

Honestly, my single greatest barrier to participation with this is that they organize the entire project through a forum system, and forums make my teeth itch.

This is great! I’m coming up with short works I can record. LibriVox gets its texts to turn audio mainly from Project Gutenberg. I wonder why there isn’t any Kierkegaard on there?

I want to do this with a couple of college friends (we did the great books), perhaps assigning chapters of a longer book.
It’s great fun. Don’t hesitate to dive right in. You don’t have to be a pro, just read, record and edit out your worst mistakes.
Do it once and you’ll be hooked. I’ve recorded 31 chapters in 16 books, characters in 2 plays, the Constitution of the United States, and some poetry. It’s hard to stop!
and yet I’m completely nervous about actually throwing my hat in the ring. I can just see… “Wow, we really liked your chapter, but, um, we lost your tape… the cat spilled wine on it… “
Maybe I’ll start by sneaking in something obscure that no one will listen to, anyway.
