Sun salutations really help when I’ve got backache! I’ve been doing them about three times a day- once in the morning, once when I get home from school and once before night. Also helping me remember not to snack between meals! 11 months ago

indigoliquiddGetting better.

Last week I did sun sals every workday morning. Five days in a row is a new record! The weekends always trip me up, though. Back to it today since I missed yesterday too. 12 months ago

indigoliquiddMay 2 and 3

This was my third day in a row of doing sun sals. I’m a little ashamed to say that I think this is my longest streak. 12 months ago

May Day- perfect time to try and reawaken this goal. Did my normal old sun salutation this morning.

Next Monday is my last class of community education yoga/blend, so I’ve got to keep up with SOMETHING! Sun Sals every morning should help me stay flexible… and the crocodile pose is a great tricep pushup to wake up to every morning. 12 months ago

Bedhead2I would like to do this!

Maybe one sun salutation, maybe a few!
I hope you don’t mind if I join this goal. 13 months ago

Aaahhh. I finally decided to set my alarm early, get up with only ONE snooze, and had plenty of extra time to do two sets of a sun salutation. Plus write about it here. ;)

To be honest, it really didn’t feel all that great. My muscles seemed awfully tight, and it felt like I couldn’t really straighten out. But something is better than nothing. Especially when I haven’t done it for weeks. 15 months ago

After not starting my day with this for at least two weeks, I woke up on this lovely Saturday and did my sun salutation. 16 months ago

indigoliquiddLost it again.

I can’t even say it’s because of being sick since my last entry I wrote about how I could fainlly breathe again. I have a hard time to committing for some reason.

Apparently I’d rather be lazy even though being active does feel so much better. It was one TechKat who wrote this about being lazy. That ‘being lazy is easy, but it’s also boring.”

True story. I needed to remind myself of that several times this weekend, and not only on my sun sal goal. 18 months ago

indigoliquiddBack at it

This morning I hit my snooze button once when the alarm went off at 6am. But instead of waiting til the alarm went off again at 6:05, I got up and went to the living room to do my sun salutation.

For a few days, I had taken off due to being tired and sick and not feeling up to it. I’m still recovering, but I can breathe while upside down today, so it seemed appropriate. This morning I enjoyed feeling my body limber up as I went through the two cycles. 18 months ago

indigoliquiddTuesday October 25

A little better this morning. I was still tired, but I feel like I did better. Did two today, plus some side stretches to start with. I am discovering that I have a hard time breathing/ breathing deep from a seated position with my back straight. That was more of a discovery again tonight in class.

In class the instructor did this kind of body warm-up, I guess. It was after he started the class off with breathing and this core move.

Anyway, the series of moves was something like this:
Forward bend to
Forward fold to
Flat back which he called ‘monkey pose’ back to
Forward fold to
Reverse swan dive
Bring hands up and back down into prayer.
Then taking arms down, circling back up and back down to prayer
The circling hands up and then swan dive to forward fold
Step back to down dog,to plank, Chaturanga, down to floor, then to up dog (I do a baby cobra instead) back to down dog then
Step or jump back to forward bend… And start it all over again.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. :) 19 months ago

indigoliquiddOctober 24, starting again

It’s unbelievable how much time passes between my entries. And how much time passes between instances where I am actually applying myself to be better.

This morning I snoozed only one time (From 6 to 6:05) and got up and did two side stretches and my sun sals. It was pretty rough. I was still very sleepy, and realizing now that I didn’t do one part.

I think more important than waking up on time will be going to bed on time. Which means I should probably get getting dishes etc done by nine so that I can wrap up, get ready for bed, and be under the sheets by 10. I’ve been staying up way later than that recently. That’s why I’m always snoozing now. Last night I was actually asleep by about 10:15. It did make waking up this morning a little easier. 19 months ago

indigoliquiddPart of bootcamp

And I’m kind of doing it. After I’ve been on the couch for a little while. ;)

It just feels good to be doing something again. Even if that something is one ‘complete’ Sun Sal (once through for each side). 21 months ago
