win a dance-off

I didn’t know it had been the wrong venue all along, that there were other people dancing completely, flying, making light and concentrated faces, beaming bright smiles.

Put one drink in me, and spin. My feet fly, my body flies, I’m electric and controlled, my feet, calves, thighs, hips torso, moving in rhythm with a beat at speed undeniable.

And when it wasn’t and I would dance anyway, dance anyway I wanted, and then it was right and so was I and I was up with the very best, flip flop flying and in love with the way my body moves.In love with my body, in love with me.

I won an a dance-off at my junior prom last year. I got a pair of light-up glasses.

It helps to challenge ten year olds with only one leg. ;)

Don’t take the dancing part too seriously, it’s all about doing fun things that no one’s ever seen before. If you can make the crowd laugh (with you) it won’t matter that you can’t spin on your head for 45 seconds.

This was literally the day before MJ was arrested on child molestation charges, but I won a Michael Jackson dance alike contest on top of a bar. The other two guys were terrible though.

I think I’ve actually won two, for one I got a CD I didn’t like and the other I think I got some cake or something, neither of them was serious, and I think they judged them on the criteria of the winner is the one who looks like the biggest fool. It was me. Twice.

It’s about the show. Wear pink bloomers, and you’re golden.
