I have had a picture of me in the paper, years ago, but this time it was a photo I took. Very cool. It is of the owners of J65 Productions (top photo), Jamie Bender and Mike Baldwin. Even more cool is that the photo was taken on the set of the movie I am executive producing (written and directed by my husband, Erik Myers). I didn’t get a photo credit because the paper went to press before they got the info. Still, I am happy it’s in there, and it’s great that the guys got an article highlighting their company. They do fantastic work.

Accomplished this last year, twice in fact. One picture in the Times Herald Sunday Record April 23 ‘06 for cleaning up the river on Earth Day. It was about 45 degrees, raining and we were all covered in mud and garbage. We pulled so much crap out of the river bed- beer cans from the 70s, dolls, golf clubs, glasses from local restaurants, tires, an entire bike from in the river and there was also a 1950s style car. Yes, an entire car. We couldn’t remove it because it had been there so long that the tree roots had actually encased it. But back to the picture, its me, soaking wet with two large sacks of garbage. mmmm.
A few months later, I led the Environmental Commission’s boat in our annual race down the river. We lost because our boat was leaking a bit, but the picture of us is cute…all in life jackets and waving to the camera. I wasn’t even aware of this picture until one of my students brought it up and showed me…
In the summer of 2006, mine and Edgey’s book, “Fighting For Freedom Because A Better World Is Possible,” was reviewed and written up by John Zerzan and printed in Green Anarchy. Quite the honor! :D
