ideally that little place in Byron, Australia … but will consider anywhere really.
How to own a beach house
How I did it: What pushed me was the fact that property price in Panama was getting higher by the minute, so I decided to scout lots of land in the beach area, since i figured it would be less expensive that way (instead of using a realtor).
After a lot of scouting, found this lot of 1,000m2 that already had a fence and a cement shack with tiled roof that served for hanging hammocks. It turned out to be from a family that wanted to sell urgently, so they were selling at a very reasonable price.
Since I didnt have enough money or credit to buy it on my own, I talked to my parents & brother and decided to buy together (in the end, we were all gonna use it).
So far, we´ve built an outdoor sink, a bbq, have installed flooring in the shack, built a bathroom/deposit and the bases for a big living room.
Lessons & tips: -Have a budget in mind
-Study the prices in the area, so you know when you have a bargain in front of you
-Sometimes what you have in front of you is not what you had in mind, but look above that and see if it has potential
-Plan ahead, if you buy a lot or a house, have in mind what you want to build or add.. (the finished project, so you avoid construction mishaps)
-Use a local contractor and buy the construction material yourself; you can save a lot of money

Seems like owning a beach house would help me get to the beach more often. I love the ocean and never get enough from my annual family beach trip.
I have always wanted to own a beach house. I love beaches. May be one day I will have enough money to afford it.
Man, it will be so much fun to have a house on the beach, where I can hang out every summer.

Yes, someday I’ll be able to leave my cramped, pollution-infused city/suburb home and drive on down to… anywhere with a beach within a block or two. There will be my summer home waiting for me. There may or may not be civilization nearby, but there definitely won’t be any teenagers.
I would love to have a place at the beach that I can go to anytime I want…with the pets.
It would need to have views of the ocean and beach, within 2 hours of my current house, and easy walk to a sandy beach.
A home to come back to from my archaeologist and volunteer trips..:)plus i love beaches…
God willing! I would love to own a house by the Beach. Especially in the Philippines. Ultimately, if GOD permits, that’s where I’ll be chillin’ back, laying on a hammock, tied between 2 coconut trees, watching the sunset over the ocean. hahahhaha, nice thought, but we’ll see.
with a view to the ocean, if it were on top of a cliff it would be even better!
