...and can’t wait to start! Need to get some postcards tomorrow. Might never have known about this without 43T!
How I did it: so...i decided to do PostCrossing on a whim when i found out about it. my interest was piqued...travel by proxy, i thought. i sent out my first 5 cards and got one response from the receiver that she would have liked to "have read something about me" instead of a blank card...after her preferences stated she liked to receive naked cards. after about 2 months, i have only received 3 out of the 5 i was supposed to get. i enjoyed the on… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I just found out about PostCrossing today and its such a cool idea. I only wish mailing postcards overseas was cheaper! I just mailed off my first postcard so hopefully I'll get one back soon! Read how I did it…

So, when do the five that I just mailed show up as sent? When their receiver logs them? I’m confused…and worried that I didn’t use the proper amount of postage. I did not know this would be so stressful!
But it’s still awesome. I found five perfect postcards in my collection for the people that I got as recipients! So, do the people who work at postcrossing have a secret camera installed in my postcard box? You just never know….
I’ve heard good things about it and being a collector of postcards I can’t believe I haven’t done this before! But I’m so excited to send postcards to people – why does that part of it feel more exciting than the actual receiving? It could have something to do with the new tin of vintage postcards I just purchased last weekend!

I’m not sure what the card says; it came with a translation, but it didn’t quite make sense. “Can’t call names of fate, then the real friend hugs you.”
The back of the card says 18th century Vilnius.
Cute Basset!
The Merlion Inn.
This is the sculpture of the Five Rams, which is a fairy tale as well.
As well, the girl from France got my surprise card and sent me a thank you message. The other girl from Taiwan got my postcard today and says she wants to visit Niagara Falls now.

from Paris!
The girl who sent it to me included her return address and so I sent her one in return this morning. She said on her homepage she is interested in direct swaps, so I hope it’s a pleasant surprise for her.
Speaking of that, I’ve initiated two direct swaps; one from Taiwan, and one from a little girl from IL. So we’ll see how that goes. (:

I got this from Finland, and this from the Netherlands, on Friday.
Today I got two more!
This one is from New Jersey, and this beauty is all the way from Australia.
I got quite a shock when I read the message on the Australian postcard…
I’m subscribed to the daughter of the woman who sent me this postcard. What are the chances, out of all the postcrossers, in the nearly 3 million postcards that they have sent out over time (who knows how many per day) that I receive a postcard from the mother of not just ANY 43Ter, but from someone that I am subscribed to? Is it a small world, or what? WOW!

I have sent 10 postcards so far, with 5 received, and today I got my first postcard back!
It is the Oporto Cathedral, from Portugal. The woman who sent it wrote that she is married with two daughters and Oporto is a beautiful city with lots of history.
My first postcard through here. How exciting!
Already signed up for it! Got 2 addresses, one in USA and the other in Japan. Time to go and get some nice postcards and get this thing started. Exciting times :)
