HSC over in two days.
I can’t wait to be able to travel to my dad’s without worrying about missing out on everything else.

We watched Constantine in the end, and smoked a lot of cigarettes, haha.
Then talked for an hour, good-o.
I saw him a few days ago when I went to visit my Grandmother. Wow! I have a family that I never pay attention to! They’re heaps fun!
Very soon I will go hang out with them again, when I no longer have to ‘study’.
They like me more now that we actually see each other, and me them :)

Father came around with 583409 DVDs and he and I made sandwiches.
We also had a few cigarettes. Naughty me! Hope that did the trick and won’t lead to anything else.
He said his phone is full because he keeps all my texts.
He started falling asleep during a DVD so he’s having a nap :)
I showed him my formal pictures and he said Boyfriend and I looked nice and happy. Love yous were exchanged. I loaned him my precious sleep mask!
Now I have no excuse not to study! For an hour anyway.
Will read some of horrible Ext. I crime novel. In theory. Only napping for an hour so perhaps detrimental to my studies if interrupted, set me back a few weeks, etc. Lol.

Grandma thing seems scary but the gettogether is postponed until next week.
We made a date for DVDs on Wednesday, and talked about computer games. But suddenly he confirmed the plans, told me to past on good wishes to my mother, etc – things to imply an end to the conversation.
“Thank you for ringing. It’s nice talking to you.”
So why did he go? It’s like he thinks I’m terribly bored of him. I wanted to say “We don’t have to stop,” but, baby steps.
It’s okay!

My parents split when I was seven.
My dad lived a walkable (ten minutes?) distance away (of course I wasn’t allowed to walk it but that’s not the point) and I saw him a few times a week.
Then a few years later he moved about forty-five minutes away, because in theory that would give him more free time if he didn’t waste so much of it getting to work and back.
Then my uncle lost his wife and had three kids to look after while working seventeen night shifts a day. So my father lived there until he lost his job. Now he babysits and tries to get his wonky eyes to read old school sci-fi.
Anyway.
At the end of last year, after my grandfather’s funeral and at a different pop-in at my grandmother’s I saw him and bonded with my cousins. I only have a few cousins and before then had really only spoken about five words to them in the last ten years. I kicked a football for the first time, in my demure old-people clothes. :)
I saw him around our birthdays (the 17th and 19th of March) (maybe that was the event I recall!), maybe one or two occasions since (I can’t really remember), and for Father’s Day on the.. 6th? of September. It was nice, we smoked a lot of cigarettes, ate a very Australian barbecue dinner, and I bonded with my cousins even more. I gave him a computer game or two and some liqueur. He was rather pleased with that. I wore a massive private school jacket home as I took the train-substitute buses. The delays made it seem special, haha.
Oh! We went to see Terminator:Salvation when it was out (July?) because I was brought up on Arnold Schwarzenegger flicks and it’s a special thing. He liked that I saved it for him. Terminator II is one of my favourite movies, and it’s the second movie I can remember seeing, after The Lion King. We walked halfway home under the guise of ‘the 413 bus is really stupid so we may as well’. :)
On the 30th (?) of August we went and saw Surrogates because I was brought up on Bruce Willis as well. :D We were both sort of late in a sense but it was good because we could sit and drink our Pepsis in the park while we waited for the film to start.
I need to ring him in a minute to see if he and my cousins are visiting my grandmother tomorrow. She is having a second operation on an aneurysm and wants to see everyone just in case.
I hope he is there!
If so I will need to get on with my six month goal of reading Julian May’s ‘The Many-Coloured Land’ to sound up to date with my father’s favourite sci-fi classics. Good daughter form?
The only two pictures of us online, uploaded in 2006.

Although I do, Its not that much anymore…
...Since he got a girlfriend.
I am really hapy for him but since theyve been together I dont see him as much and dont get to spend time with him.
I even think im starting to become jealous of HER kids as all the days he is over there, hes spending time with them too.
Id also like to actually meet this girl…
My dad lives only a couple hundred miles from me, but you can’t get there from here, except on a ferry, or on a plane..both of which are too expensive for me to do very often.
I wish there was a road to Cordova, damnit.
Anyhow, if I get this job with the airline I will be able to fly to see him whenever I want, which is way cool… came all this way to Alaska and only see him twice a year or so, that’s just dumb.
