I helped a group of people make 1000 paper cranes for some sick kid from Hiroshima. it was a rewarding experience, me personally making over 70 of the little buggers.
i really want to do this again.

This only took me a few minutes. I haven’t made any kind of origami in years. Not the best ever, but I’m okay with it. Very fun, glad that I did it. :)

It took me about five minutes to do. I’m going to shoot for a thousand of these things.

i tried another method today. my folding skills are really shoddy, but i succeeded after a 30 minute struggle with diet coke and cigarette breaks. http://www.sadako.org/How%20to%20Fold%20Crane%20from%20Operation%20Peace%20Crane.htm
it makes a better crane, even if the folding is a bit more taxing. i will use this method from now on.

that i never did growing up that i saw all the kids around me doing. i was too quick-tempered and too clumsy to do it. i think if i had done this more when i was younger, i wouldnn’t be quite so clumsy. nonetheless, i bought a 50 pack of origami paper at the store and followed online instructions. i made two today. they weren’t quite as nice as i wanted them to be, they fall over because i didn’t get perfect, crisp angles. but maybe this can be my artsy side for lord knows i can’t paint and i can’t take good pictures and i can’t write poetry or any of that. but perhaps i can make good paper cranes.
i can only hope.
