Learned how to animate a “signature” this week. In this particular case – the word “Gift” – using the stroke effect. Was shaky at first like an 80 year old man wrote it, but I perfected it the next day. yay. Thanks a million to Creative Cow online tutorials.

was a complete success. I learned a lot, it looks great, and I’m very proud.
The second one I was proud of too…but the client turned around and made their own damned commercial leaving me wondering why I wasted my time. I was a bit bent out of shape but I made peace with it. At least I got to learn some stuff and I’ll save that for a client who appreciates my skills!
Oh yeah, and a friend figured out how to put a damned drop shadow on some front and shared his knowledge with me! Why doesn’t this program make sense?
Ever since I was laid off, I’ve really had the time to immerse myself in free online After Effects tutorials, and creating random projects for my self to practice on. So far so good! I’m really getting the swing of it! Not to mention amazed that I was able to stay motivated. I’m so excited! I just want to do more! Yaaay!
This is something my resume desperately needs.
I can’t afford to take a class at this point. But there are a bunch of Tutorials on YouTube. I’m just gonna bombard my brain with a bunch of these and see what happens.
I am new into video editing and animations, I want to learn after effects and adobe premiere, where can i please get the start up learning materials. Finally, Is it possible to learn 3Ds Max, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and After effects un-regard as a jack of all trades.
I used After Effects TWO TIMES in a spot I worked on today. The 3D effect I practiced with last week and a cool text effect too. The clients aren’t paying for that kind of work but I do it for myself.
can be done with After Effects. Today I’m working on this still photo I took of a Wombat and making it move around in 3D space with the grass around it. Thankfully there’s been some down time at work where I have a chance to play.
After Effects is like Photoshop plus timeline. In addition it is easy to write scripts – so called expressions – to automate things.
So I’d recommend starting with Photo Shop. To learn expressions it’s a good idea to learn JavaScript as well.
The Adobe experts forum is a good starting point.
I have learned After Effects working on a short 2D animation. A real good practice.
I sucked it up and decided to use it for a project instead of Flash. It’s a continuing process to learn it, but I can officially say I crossed over my fear of it and completed one project using it. I’m looking forward to next quarter when I can try it again.
