Shop for Fun is an online fashion game where you build a dream wardrobe and create outfits to win Amazon gift certificates.
But it has certainly given me the incentive to work harder. 23 months ago
Happpiness is definitely what I focused on this month. It’s been a tough month for me, tough five months actually. I’m still trying to keep my head up though. On top of the things mentioned earlier I did manage to work on [a very little bit of] school stuff. I also got my second acceptance letter for school next year. I put $1000 in the bank which made me quite proud. I heled my grandma clean and clear her house. I visited with my great grandma and had a most wonderful time. I’m reminded again and again why I love her so much every time I see her. I went to a couple Little League baseball games to see my friend’s brother play. I spent time with most of my friends at various times this month. My best friend went in and came out of surgery this week. I hope to see him this weekend.
The more I think about it, the more good I remember. Which I think is most important. A lot of bad happens. Right now, it feels like even more bad than usual. But I it all comes down to the people I have chosen, and have not chosen, as family and the happiness and hope they continue to give me. That’s all that’s important. 23 months ago
I completed my research this month, and sent it off for marking which is huge for me:)
I did start looking for jobs.
I applied for the loan at sveral places and now have to make the descision, but at least I got off my ass and made the application.
I still have to work on some routines for home and do maintainance for my car which I had planned to have sorted out this month.
But having this goal on my list motivated me a lot so it was definitely worth it 23 months ago
The month went very well. I would say that I managed to stay (mostly) focused throughout the month. I achieved some of my goals and am still working on others. Here is my final update:
WEIGHTLOSS
I achieved my goals of losing 5 lbs this month.
1. I joined WW and weighed in every week. I attended weekly meetings as well.
2. Until the last week I track food. I will get back on to tracking all my points beginning TODAY!
EXERCISE
This one did not go so well. I did a bit of walking, but my gym visits deteriorated. Oh well…new month, new goals!
DE-CLUTTERING
I did get a bit done in the house this month, although not as much as I would have liked.
1. Garage NOT YET.
2. Gillian’s room DONE!
3. Toy-box on main floor NOT YET.
4. Antique washstand on main floor NOT YET.
MY 43 THINGS BEFORE I’M 43 LIST

How I did it: I love Bootcamps - they really make me focus on doing something towards my goals each day. At the start of the month I wrote out where I wanted to be at the end of May, and this is where I am. I logged in on a daily basis to work on my goals through the May Boot Camp Goal, and each of the May goals were about working towards my main goals for 2011. So here goes.
lose 6.5 lbs, so I’ve lost 83 lbs in total
I actually lost 8 lbs in May, and lost a total of 85 lbs. Which was incredible and meant that I passed my six stones lost target this month. I felt like I did really well, and was focused and get going, despite some struggling throughout the month. It wasn’t an easy month, but I was very focused.
track my eating and keep tabs six days out of seven
I tried to do this more, and wasn’t too bad on the whole, but I could have done better. On the other hand, overall it was a great month in terms of my weight loss goal.
Walk at least 200,000 steps – consistent, persistent, but kind!
I actually walked 213, 092 steps in May 2011, and passed my million steps for 2011. Only another million to go! I tried really hard to push myself this month in terms of walking harder and faster, but I had some stretches where I didn’t walk as much as I would have liked, due to being away etc. But a really good month on this score.
Wear sun block on all exposed skin every single day
100% success on this goal, and I extended my routine to include my hands – huge improvement to the texture of my skin on the back of my hands, very fair and smooth after just 14 days.
Sort out my finances and get back on track with tracking
Totally did this, which wasn’t a major thing but feels really good to be on top of my finances in terms of tracking
Save £250
I did this automatically through my savings, but I did spend a lot on clothes this month. I don’t feel too badly about this, because losing weight means I have to spend money on clothes, but still…
Keep my home spotless and sparkling, enjoy the FlyLady way
Doing excellently on this goal – my home is amazing this month, spotless, decluttered and lovely to live in
Fade away from Paul this month – my second biggest goal
Not done so well on that, but it’s my current big focus so I AM making progress now.
Self pity has had his day
Yeah, have been good on that
Count to ten when I’m not sure of my mood Definitely do this now
waggle my gossamer wings of steel impudently at my irritants and enemies
Huge success with this goal
Go to the cinema at least five times I think that I went three times – not bad Read how I did it… 23 months ago
TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF MAY… I DO HAVE A FEW THINGS LEFT TO ACCOMPLISH THAT WILL HAVE TO HAPPEN IN JUNE, BUT HERE IS MY UPDATE FOR MAY:
WEIGHT-LOSS (LOST 5 LBS WHICH WAS MY GOAL!)
1. Track food. Must get back on this bandwagon.
2. Weigh in and attend meeting on Monday (even though I want to avoid it because I don’t think I lost weight!) C. and I are going to WW on Wednesday (to face the music!)
3. Stick with 29 points each day. Fresh start for June 1st!
EXERCISE
1. Stretch daily. Yep!
2. Go for a walk on Sunday. Yep!
3. Go to the gym on Monday. Yep!
3. Go for a walk on Tuesday. Yep!
DE-CLUTTERING AND TIDYING
1. Do dishes each day. Yep!
2. Put away laundry. Yep!
3. Tidy main floor. Somewhat.
4. Clean bathroom. Perhaps tomorrow?
5. Clear off table. Not yet
6. Tidy bedroom. Mostly done.
43 THINGS
I don’t think I’ll get anything else done. The garage isn’t going to get done this month. It’s rained too much and our weekends have been busy. Oh well…it’s not going anywhere!
MISCELLANEOUS
1. Book club on Monday. A late evening of eating and drinking wine outside (finally nice weather!) and, oh yeah, chatting about the book.
2. Massage and chiro on Tuesday. Fabulous (although a bit sore during some parts)!1 year ago
Last day of this challenge! I’m quite sad, but I’m looking forward to checking out what I said I wanted to do at the start of the month and then seeing how I’ve actually done…!

I did really well with my May goals and am quite proud. The only thing I didn’t get done was donating/selling old clothes but I will get that done tomorrow hopefully. 1 year ago
was all about finding & seeing a doctor who is competent to treat my thyroid disease. The doctor diagnosed me as being hypothyroid at my initial visit, and blood test results supported that diagnosis.
I started taking Synthroid and noticed positive results right away. I suspect that the dose will need to be increased, but we’ll see what happens on my follow-up visit.
I feel like this was a huge step toward good health, making the May bootcamp a very successful one. 1 year ago

Monday morning, but I’ve taken a day’s annual leave today – AND slept until 9.15 am, the slacker that I am!!
So, let’s have a fantabulous day today. I’ve got seven habits to work on this week, am finding this feature pretty helpful to focus. I really want weight loss and exercise to be my primary goals, and then the others in descending order. Silly really, but it focuses my mind.

It’s been a busy month, but I finally made the appointment to go see my future professor at UMass, and it was a great meeting. I’m pumped to start school in the fall. I feel like I could do a better job preparing and organizing as a teacher, but it was my first year so that lesson is easily learned. Organization and narrowing my focus is something I continue to struggle with. I’m good about keeping a positive frame of mind about my life and goals, but I just have to be consistent with it. My band just played a show last night, and we have one coming up this week. Hopefully this time we’ll be playing to a crowd, and not just the other bands :/ . Every band has done that at some point I suppose. Hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day weekend if you have a long weekend! 1 year ago
1) Health/Diet -
Eat 3 healthy meals per day – I’m doing better with NOT skipping meals but overall, I STILL need to focus and keep better tabs on this tendency! C-
2) Drink 7-8 glasses of water a day – C- Better than I was but
3) Get enough sleep – 7.5 hrs per night – ea. night! – I’m pretty consistent on getting enough sleep, though on weekends I will stay up later on occasion B+
4) Take my lunch to work 90% of the time. Totally Fail! – F
5) Exercise – Walking: Walk once a week C- Weather has been crappy, but most weeks I walked a minimum of once a week, in addition to doing my fitness class 1x wk. Stretches – nope!
6)Social – Do something fun on the weekends. Every weekend of the month I’ve done something with friends/family – B
7)Mental/Emotional – Read one book this month. I’m just not in reading mode! I’ve read magazines and PARTS of books, but I did not complete one book. But reading chapters should count for something! D
8)Organizing/Cleaning – Spring Cleaning – Clean/organize the kitchen completely. I started, yes but whoo boy I have to do so much more! I give myself an F, for not completing the ‘list!
9)Finish 2 knitting projects! Should be easy-peasy, but we will see! One is nearly finished. Another I’ve put a deadline on already, and am making great progress. I’m working feverishly on finishing two items, one is soooo close to being done, and the other I’ll finish the first week in June FOR sure! D
10)Stay completely off of Facebook for 30 days! Totally didnt do this, but I will say I stayed off for about 12 days or so, and I am on less frequently and for shorter visits. F!
While I start out strong in the month, I don’t carry out these goals until the end of the month.
I hope there is a June Bootcamp announced soon, I do like the idea of working to goals you create for yourself.
Next month, I will simplify this greatly, and have only 2-3 mini goals in an effort to be much more successful!
June anyone??? 1 year ago
