I typed my advanced healthcare directive. Next stept is to print it out and to take it to the local hospitals, keep a copy in my car and one where “they” are trained to look for it in your house. Then I will start my will.

The one that did the deed to my house is good enough for this work. If she doesn’t agree, she will recommend someone else. I do not have to wait and ask around for a personal referral; that is just a procrastination technique.
It is time I got this done. It would bring me peace of mind to know that my good work should continue if something were to happen to me, and that it wouldn’t go to irresponsible family members.

Well my mom had stroke and I knew nothing about her finances or her bills or her acct.s. I had to get a power of attorney.
A week later I made out a power of attorney for my oldest daughter and a living will. She is the oldest and has great love for her siblings and I know she would carry out my wishes.
It is a comfort and a great relief to have this done. It was easier than I thought and it didnt cost me anything at all. I just had it notorized- that is what the care center did for my mom.
It wasnt some long drawn out attorney thing and I recommend it to everyone who is thinking about this and putting it off!!!
What a load off my mind! G
I dont really care if this is done the technical right way. But I just want to catalogue the things that I have and make sure that they make there way into the hands of people that I want to have them!
I’m young & not wealthy yet. But I want to be prepare for my death for my family & friends.
Abigail Come on people, now, smile on your brother.
One more signature on my PAD and I’m good to go. Then I can provide a copy of it to the U of M Health System, to Mom, to Dad, and to sister, and I’m officially finished with this for the foreseeable future. I will admit, it’s a weight off.
AdmiralJack i'm goin' out west where they appreciate me!
I don’t actually want to write my own. I want to be all fancy schmancy and have my last will and testament written, but who do I go to??
I saw a Dennis The Mennace episode once where Dennis went to the the only lawyer in town and had it done up for him (he left everything to Mr. Wilson).
Should I seek out an attorney or are there other people with official sounding titles I can contact?
