NDure is organizing the 1st official HR training for his company
Did it like 2 years ago, and recently did the advanced one. Going to do the Specialty one soon!
Went to Dubai this winter to see a friend who is training to be an instructor, and I got my first taste of scuba. Did 2 days of a DSD, and they threw in some extra skills. I want to get my certification but finding the time and the money is a bit hard.
Completed the open water portion last weekend in Monterey Bay. Water was pretty cold, even under 12mm of neoprene! Vis was about 5 ft to about 25 feet, then it opened up a bit to 10-15 ft vis. Lots of starfish, nudibranchs, crabs, even a few sealions in the water with us :0)
Now I’m all set for vacation in Tahiti… 1 month and counting!!
...the title says it all…
Well, almost all :0) The bf and I plan on a Tahitian vacation in the fall. He’s already advanced open water certified and has dove in Thailand and Honduras. I want to get certified stateside so we can start diving together in the South Pacific.
Trying to find a good PADI training center in the East Bay area, any suggestions?
Got my certification Tuesday, and did my first certified dives yesterday, and was down at 60 and 70feet! Totally awesome.
Last night I took the written final for my certification, and passed with flying colors. I have also spent seven hours in a pool completing my confined water dives. Tomorrow I head for Belize, and Monday and Tuesday of next week I will be doing my open water dives, and as of next Wednesday I will be certified. It has been fun!
I’ve already done some scuba diving in Australia and the Sea of Cortez. I’m heading to Belize in a couple of weeks, and the friend I’m going with is a Padi certified dive master. They encouraged me to sign up for classes this weekend, and then do my open water dives and get certified while in Belize. So this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I will be reading, swimming, testing, etc. to get it done. I’m actually pretty excited about this, I had never really thought about getting a Padi, but the perfect opportunity presented itself.
