How to catalogue all my books on Library Thing
How I did it: I systematically went through my library and just kept plugging away. Purchasing the bar code reader was a definate help. Not much more to it than just finding time a couple times a month to knock off a shelf at a time.
Lessons & tips: don't look at your library and get overwhelmed. set little goals of just one shelf at a time. don't think you have to be super-disciplined to do it, do it when you want to, otherwise it will be more like a chore than fun.

I am almost through with about 1/2 of my non-fiction books. have 1/2 to go and then all my fiction, which is about the same amount as 1/2 of my non-fiction. so, I guess I’m about 1/3 of the way there!

OOhhh, I loved this. I love lists and books. Two of my favorite things. I still need to add so MANY more!

Have been trying to inventory my books on Library Thing for about 2 years now. This year I want to finish it! I am still stuck in World History!
I’m not sure if I’ll use it, but it was fun to indulge the book nerd in me and list all my books somewhere. :)

I now have 158 books cataloged on librarything. Slow and steady. Mow if only I can figure out a better system for keeping track of what has been cataloged and what books of read… As someone who owns a lot of non-fiction I’m frequently guilty of reading half a book (or bits and pieces) but never picking up again to finish it.

Wow I’m such a nerd! My :cueCat arrived and I love it; I’ve already started cataloging my books! So much fun lol

I’ve ordered a CueCat so this will be much easier than manually entering every book, epecially with the size of my library! My significant other is even interested in doing the same! It will be interesting to see just who has more books… ignoring magazines, movies and music, as he wins those categories :)
I’ve used up all my free space so I’ll get a life time account on pay day so I can carry on with this, I like how you can pick the book cover or scan your own in so that it’s the right one.
