waffler is working on my Goal #2: "Finish my PhD"
They’re getting worse! Each entry I write about this goal, my eyes are getting worse and worse. Now, not only are the circles even darker, but they’re scaly, and I’ve got WRINKLES under my eyes, which I NEVER had before, and the skin is looser, and baggier, in addition to being dark. When I added this goal, the area under my eyes was just dark, which is why I picked the “Get rid of undereye circles” goal instead of “undereye bags” or whatever, since I didn’t have any.
Now it’s worse!!! AUUUGGHH!!! I don’t know what to do. Creams aren’t working. Cold water doesn’t do anything. Makeup just makes it look worse. Help!

So, since the eye cream’s not working, I’m looking up other techniques. I read in a magazine that cold water will really help your skin look more awake, so I’ve been washing my face in cold water hoping it’ll help the undereye circles. We’ll see how it goes.

Fail. Fail. Fail. I bought some Clinique All About Eyes Rich, which is beloved by many and supposed to be awesome, I read about it in Glamour magazine, it’d won a winner’s choice award this year. So I tried it. Using it night and day for about 6 weeks now, no improvement.
I have discovered what makes my eyes worse though. My allergies. I need to take my allergy medicine regularly or my eye circles get worse.
Also, I started trying to minimize rubbing my eyes. Also, I now apply eye cream and touch my eyelids with my ring finger only (to avoid applying too much pressure). I think these measures (allergy meds, less pressure) are helping more than the cream.
I went to the Clinique counter today to ask for help. The girl showed me some All About Eyes Concealer, but it didn’t look any different than when I use my regular concealers myself.
It’s worst when I’m wearing contacts, I think because it makes the circles more noticeable, and because I have to do a lot of eye rubbing and pressing to get the contact in. So perhaps next step is to learn to put my lenses in more efficiently and quickly.
People have been telling me how tired I look—even when I’m well-rested! It’s always when I’m wearing my contacts, because the bags look worse when I haven’t got my glasses to cover them. So I think it’s not just all in my head that my undereye circles look awful.
