eco’s definitely on my short list of authors to read. been through everyone of his books at least once. some are harder to get through than others, but they always pay off in the end. foucalt’s pendulum is still my favorite.

SO worth it 3 years ago

Just finished Foucault’s Pendulum this morning, in fact. I had already read The Island of the Day Before, and Baudolino. So far I think I liked Baudolino most for the sheer fun of it (not that it’s any less “learned” than Eco’s other work), and Foucault’s Pendulum for it’s 642 thought provoking pages. But maybe I should read The Island of the Day Before again …

In any case, pick one and dive in. Eco is demanding, but for every ounce of energy you give to the book, you reap a rich harvest of rewards.

Umberto Eco is an AMAZING writer, his books are full of literary, theological and historical references. I picked up “The Name of the Rose” a few weeks ago and it is one of my 43 things GOALS to finish it. I have heard it was a great read and I am really looking forward to it. It is not an “easy” book to read but I am really looking forward to ploughing through it! I JUST started but I am already looking forward to the next time I can sit down and read it!
