Ouch…black friday and all the prep that led up to it really killed my outside time this month. I was exhaused and irritable. I definitely want to get out of retail before this time next year. I miss hospitality work…or admistrative work would be nice too. I’m better suited to both. :-)

I worked 23 days this month and had more than a bit of round trips the short way to work because it was after dark or I got up late due to exhaustion.

Seeing this number drop so much over the last two months kind of had me fired up to do better in December and into next year…maybe I can start off 2012 with my first ever 12 month streak of 500+ mile months!! That’d be something. :-)

I also may have biked more than this because I wasn’t very diligent about my record keeping this month. Many a night I rolled into bed practically upon walking in the front door to my apartment.

Hopefully December will be a better month. 17 months ago

Amy AOctober 2011 - 213.53

Well, I do believe this is the worst month for biking yet…owing to the fact that I’ve been “cheating” and going in to work via the street route (sleeping later and almost being late every day) and coming home on the canal. I need to stop doing that. It adds to my stress levels and the extra half hour of sleep is probably not worth it.

I also rode less in general because my hub needs to be replaced and I’m worried it will go out for good and at the moment I haven’t got the $30 to replace it.

Next month will probably be more of the same until I get the money together to fix it. :-( Such is life. 18 months ago

Amy ASeptember 2011 - 250.26

Not as good as last month…I worked 20 days in September (two less days than average…not sure what happened…no extra time off). I also didn’t do any real pleasure riding. I kind of got in my pity pool for a while and didn’t really do much of anything goal wise, socializing, or well…anything. I need to get out of my funk and just do some stuff, I think.

Still, 250 miles logged in one month is pretty good. I’m challenging myself to do much better in October, especially since the weather is turning nice in the mornings and evenings. :-) 19 months ago

Amy AAugust 2011 - 311.96

I worked 23 days this month…they flipped my weekends, which managed to add a day to this month’s total days worked. I still didn’t really bike much for pleasure (I went once, in my defense, we had a streak of record breaking heat for this time of year which is not really making me want to be outside). On the up side, I did run more errands this month than last month.

Things are beginning to cool down more in the evening, so I should be able to bike more for pleasure here in the near future without risk of cooking myself in the southwestern heat! :-)

I am pleased to finally have a month where I broke 300 miles!! A trend I’d like to see continue. 20 months ago

Amy AJuly 2011 - 284.20 Miles

Since it’s now over. It’s technically still the last night of the month, but it’s 11pm here, so it’s close enough for me to consider July over…

I worked 22 days out of 31 (again, slightly depressing to think about). I didn’t do any canal rides at all and I had to go a different route two days due to the Monsoons (the canal is all dirt and gravel…mostly dirt), so when it rains youc can’t go on them (soupy mud).

Still almost 300 miles is nothing to complain about. I’d like to make 500 miles in August…but even getting over the 300 mile hump would be great!

I need to stop napping in the afternoon after work, if I’d just put on my shoes and get out there, I’d probably be a lot happier in the long run…it’s the psychological barrier that’s stopping me I think. I really need to work on that. :-) 21 months ago

Amy AJune 2011 - Logged 293.06 Miles

Most of my miles this month were going to and coming home from work…I worked 22 days tihs month (gads, it’s depressing when I look at it that way), it’s 11.98 miles to/from work per day…so yea, a large chunk of my biking came from there.

Plus, it got hot and I haven’t been going as many places…I didn’t do my long canal ride even once this monht…I did do the short version once though.

When I made this as a resolution a couple of months ago (on the resolutions page), I figured even if I never made it…it would be motivational and keep me aware of how much I am doing and where I need to step it up a bit.

It’s going to be hot all this weekend – they save over 110 every day, but I may still try to go tonight close to sunset and take extra water…even if I only to the short version, it’ll be a good start to the month. 23 months ago
