The good thing about 43T is that it focuses you on your goals, but it also reminds you of goals you’d prefer to forget (even though you shouldn’t). This goal of fixing the windows has not been tended to for over 3 months. It’s either been hot or we’ve been busy. It was easy to ignore, except people kept cheering it. Today is a relatively cool day with nothing special happening, so I started work on two more windows. Thank you to everyone on 43T for keeping me focused. 2 years ago

How I did it: I had a plan to remove the old storm windows and paint the frames after we replaced the interior windows with something more energy efficient.
This is a goal that lacks glamour but will feel good when done. Last winter, we had the windows on the back of the house upgraded to more energy efficient ones. The others had been done before we moved in. I was a bit annoyed that the carpenter did not take off the old exterior storm windows, but figured I could do it in the spring. I took the first one off last weekend and figured out why he did not do this. They are ugly underneath. There is old caulking, peeling paint and bare wood. They need to be sanded down to bare wood (groan), primed and painted. Two down and five to go. I plan to take my time and do them one at a time. It is not a big rush. 2 years ago
