I was laying out getting a tan and an ant crawled into my mouth. It tasted like black pepper. When my son was little he was sitting on the step and goes” Mommy I just ate an ant it was spicy!” Goofy Kid ! LOL!!

Mopane worms
Didn’t taste nice at all (kind of what I imagine chewing a bunch of grass would taste like) but I’m still glad I did it!

i ate a fried cricket in my anthro class. the crickets were fed potatoes, so it tasted kind of like a french fry. it’s not delicious, but it’s not any worse than a food you don’t particularly like.

Fried grasshoppers in Bangkok. Not so bad, really.

Mine could be called cricket brittle, I guess. There were crickets enrobed in translucent pink cinnamon-flavored hard candy. I had a piece with just one cricket, and distributed the rest to the eight and nine-year-olds in the Unitarian Sunday school class I was teaching at the time (the lesson mentioned eating locusts and honey in the desert). Most things are claimed to taste either nutty or chickeny, and I would put this in the nutty category. It was okay, nothing bad about it. I think there may have been some concerns from a few parents, but nothing really grave.

Sometimes the exoskeleton can get caught under a gum like popcorn shells. The ones I ate I couldn’t taste through all the other normal crap they were cooked in.
