This was fun! I was very inspired by the website Moo.com.

I’m going to make some better business cards instead. I really like the McLeod business cards. I want something of that caliber.

Looks like moo.com is the way to go! Neat size, and I like that every card is different… I’ve got 70 out of a hundred pictures picked :)

Now I just need to decide exactly what goes on the back.

I’m hoping these come in handy if and when I get up the nerve to ask strangers and casual acquaintances for their photographs.

Moo calling cards 2 years ago

I ordered some cards from Moo today with this design (by Mike Bodge).

On the back is my name with a URL and a statement in each corner (I like you, Thank you, Nicely done, and Ouch). Depending on who I give it to and why, I can fold the appropriate corner. Endless fun ensues? I think so.

have a custom stamp, or two, made. buy some fansy-pancy card stock and have it cut to size, and handstamp the front and back. i’m in. i love it. i’ve been meaning to look into custom ink stamps.

The kind I want 3 years ago

I want something reminiscent of these old fashioned cards that served like paper handshakes, a paper social network. It’s the really old way of collecting all your friends. All of the etiquette surrounding the card interests me too. I especially like how one of the four corners is bent to denote the purpose of the visit. Let’s bring some of that nonsense back.

The fact that it just has your name on it cracks me up too. Maybe I’d add my email address or phone number. Maybe not. But I love that there’s no job title, no company, no fancy design. These are the real deal!

Now, who knows where I can make them? With my own hands? Surely not.
