The last two weekends were slow the allow the boys to get some rest in preparation for the start of the school year. I don’t know why the registration process is so complicated. It took about 5 hours standing in line to drop off registration papers (even through they are returning students) and to purchase their PE clothes and School Planner. It took so long the library closed before we could get their textbooks. I was exhausted after that experience. Orion got the braces on his bottom teeth this week as well and they are getting check ups next week. Here we go again!

Magic Mountain Theme Park
Here is the order in which we rode all the coasters.
1. Viper
2. Revolution
3. Terminator: Salvation
4. Riddler’s Revenge (Orion and me)
5. Goliath
6. Colossus
7. Scream (Orion and me)
8. Batman the Ride (Orion and me)
9. X2 (Cory and Orion both rode said this was way too intense!)
We didn’t ride Tatsu only because the ride broke down and didn’t reopen before closing. We did ride some coasters multiple times, especially in the evening when most people went home. Orion was very excited to ride all the coasters, but said X2 was his limit in terms of thrills. Cory likes the coasters too but doesn’t like the queasiness from the ride. All in all it was a fun day at the park.

Spending family time together is important to me. We did a Year Round Walk (Volksmarch) in Redondo Beach on Saturday. We are also getting in shape for our August camping trip.

It can’t be over-emphasized how important my sons are to me. I can see how fast they are growing up and I know that the time I have with them is finite, but I want to leave them with those memories that they will have a lifetime.

Amshult is wishing she were closer to home.
I really want to raise them to be good people. You see so many people having children and not giving two shits about the way they turn out. How can a person be ok with their hellians ruining lives, including their own? I just feel that as their mother I know them and I know what they are capable of and which traits I should nurture to make them the best sort of people they can be. I also know that my Gran always says ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions’. My goal is to really try to raise them well! I want to think about this everyday and never take a break, not even once! Being a parent is the most important job ever and there is no time off. God willing my efforts will be rewarded with compassionate, loving, responsible adults!!

When my wife, children, and I had our own place, they didn’t watch TV, I educated them at home, we spent more time doing activities together both at home and outdoors, they got decent healthful food. For the past three years, our living situation has really precluded such things, and they’re worse off for it. I want to see them grow to be happy, healthy people, and while raising children can be a challenge, I know I’m up to it. I just need to be in a place where I’m happy and healthy, too.

I see and hear of lots of bratty and spoiled kids these days. I grew up having to earn everything on my own, and I hope to instill the value of a dollar and hard work into my kids.
