I now routinely take less-than-five minute showers including water heat-up time and am also taking fewer showers. Occasionally I need a longer shower but it rarely runs to 10 minutes. It’s really just a matter of paying attention. If I don’t start daydreaming I really don’t need that much time. 22 months ago

I took a shower today in about 3 1/2 minutes. Admittedly I was just washing off after a farmer’s market work day, didn’t need to wash my hair or anything, but it was no biggie. I’ll keep the timer there as a friendly reminder, but this was way easier than I thought it would be. 23 months ago

I tried again, I seem to have no trouble fitting my normal shower into five minutes, the timer just seems to help keep me on track. 23 months ago

I tried it, I didn’t count waiting for the water to heat up. It was fine. I think my showers are usually about that long, maybe a little longer. I don’t consider that I’m done, though. 1 year ago

I only take two showers a week usually, so I haven’t been that active in trying to shorten them. But the fun SmartTrips people of Portland sent me a water-saving kit, including a five-minute shower timer and I thought I’d give it a try. 1 year ago
