Get past the 1st ten days and you’ll have amazing energy and sleep better. I had great results in lowering my cholesterol.
you’ve got to be strong but it’s so worth it. After the 1st ten days…Amazing energy! Food tastes better to me now. Everything is too salty. I don’t crave sweets as much. Also had my bloodwork done before and after. My total cholesterol went from 267 to 184. Seriously. But I can’t eat this way forever. Just twice a year for me. Are you strong enough?

...I think it was worth doing. I definately felt my energy levels were much more stable, and my mood seemed more level as well. I also slept much better, probably due to the lack of alcohol and caffeine.
Sadly, my skin didn’t improve as much as I’d hoped – as I’d been promised perfect skin by the end, I was a little disappointed to still have a few spots. But I now have a new plan/experiment to improve my skin – eating an avocado every day for a month. Kill or cure I think :-)
Since finishing, a week and a half ago, I’ve maintained quite a few of the good habits – seeds & fruit with my porridge in the morning, and hardly any chocolate or sweets – at least in comparison to my old self :-) I’ve also been eating various of CV’s meals, but I’ve now eaten everything that was in the freezer, so I need to restock if I want to carry on being ultra healthy. We’ll see what happens…
Now I’m back on the tox diet and have already had chips, crisps, diet coke, coffee, tea, alcohol and toast with marmite – yum yum. That was my weekend of allowing myself these things and now I will try and go back to healthy with some detox recipes.
A day and a half to go….. I must try not to binge on all the lovely unhealthy food that I had before. To be honest I don’t think I was eating that unhealthily before but this has really helped to stifle my caffeine addiction. I have also not missed alcohol and have achieved far more things in the evenings through having not drunk any. That is not to say I will be giving these things up – only having them in moderation.
Hmmmm… we had baked potatoes at the weekend with one of our recipes from CV’s Detox book, and the potato tasted very good. And it didn’t have anything on it. So … maybe this means that my taste now appreciates things without loads of added salt?
Here’s hoping. I have also lost some weight even though I seem to be eating more!

Amazingly, I managed to find something to eat, even in a pub / tapas venue. I had ratatouille and saffron rice – ok, so the rice was white, but I figure that’s not too much of a violation of detox rules :-) And I felt very virtuous just drinking mineral water, although it was tough resisting the dessert menu.
Generally, I think I’ve been sleeping much better since starting the detox, and my energy levels seem much more stable. But I’m still waiting for the explosion in energy and improvement in appearance that the detox promises – hopefully my expectations aren’t too high!
Last night I went dip-making crazy and in doing so I totally forgot to make anything for lunch – d’oh! So I have an extremely healthy lunch of some carrots, an avocade, an apple, some bananas and a papaya. I don’t think I’ll be able to eat all this! Not missing coffee now and feeling good. Innocent smoothies are half price at Sainsbury’s at the moment so drinking plenty of this :-)
