fix up the living room

I’m going to do this over the next couple of months. I’ve ripped up the carpet, and this week I’m painting the walls and trim—next week I’m painting the floor. Sometime in the next two weeks, I’ll dye some fabric and make the curtains.

It’ll take a while longer to accumulate the funds for furniture, and for a light fixture to replace the ceiling fan. That sort of thing. But my goal is to be done with this room by the end of the year.

Then on to the next room!

Getting the living room cleaned, that is a simple goal. It is also a daily goal. I should have just listed it under “keep house tidy” or “get my house organized”. I have had it cleaned since forever. I do admit, I had tons of boxes to take out of it (had no living room furniture and just got a love seat the day after I took out the boxes) and I still have nothing else to put in it. Now that the tree is gone and the chairs are about to be moved into the play room, there’s nothing in there but a darn love seat! How messy can it get???

Oh well, maybe I’ll rename it as “Fix up the living room”.
