Yesterday was a terrible day, and we appreciated the support so much. 17 months ago

This morning Pumpkin was in terrible shape. G. and I were both crying. We took her to the hospital and they called us a couple of hours later to tell us the ultrasound showed that cancer had spread to several of her organs. They couldn’t save her. We came to the hospital and gave her a little treat and hugged and petted her, and they put her to sleep.

We both cried and cried. She was such a smart, sweet, loving dog. We had her since she was a puppy. This all came on so suddenly…she didn’t seem sick at all until last Sunday. I loved her so much. I just can’t do anything today.

I think Ginger is confused and waiting for us to bring her home. 17 months ago

It’s been a tough couple of days. I am worried sick.

She moves very, very stiffly and doesn’t want to raise her head (though sometimes she does). She sometimes seems confused and unresponsive. I hardly got any sleep last night, and we were going to take her to the animal hospital this morning (I took a vacation day.) But then she seemed OK? But by late afternoon she seemed really bad again!

She is still eating and drinking, she doesn’t have a fever, and she isn’t getting sick to her stomach, but she’s not herself.

She’s going to the hospital first thing tomorrow. I hope they can fix her. :( 17 months ago

walked them this afternoon. She likes to take one at a time, so she doubles her walking and the girls behave a little better. I walked them yesterday, and they behaved pretty badly, sniffing when they were asked no to, if you can believe it! For shame! 18 months ago

to a nearby park our little city just redesigned. It makes for about a mile and a half roundtrip, a good distance for them. 18 months ago

love love their walks, but they can’t go much more than a mile now. They’re not young anymore, and sadly carry a little too much weight (my fault, I know). So walking is not a great means of exercise for me as it once was. I can’t bear to go without the dogs. 18 months ago
