So I’ve lived in LA my entire life, I’m 17, and since the earliest i can remember I’ve REALLY wanted to leave. IT IS SOOOOO BORING. There is nothing really fun or cool to do around here. I know los angeles is supposed to be fun and exciting, but its not to me. My definition “Fun” is not going to the theaters, getting wasted at parties, or almost any other thing that involves hanging out with the masses. My “Fun” is going on some adventure, what that adventure is i don’t know…BUT I WANT TO LEAVE, that’s for sure.
How to leave Los Angeles
How I did it: After a fruitless search for good jobs in other cities, I finally gave up and joined the Peace Corps. I will be leaving, if all goes well, in September 2009. I'm happy to be leaving for such a good reason. Meanwhile, this goal has become a lot of smaller goals, so it's time for me to retire it from my list.
Lessons & tips: Just do it! Any way you can.

Kate L. got her invitation to join the Peace Corps
Now that I’m getting closer to my main goal, which is “get out of debt” I’m moving this up on my list. It’s starting to become more real.
back in 1973. All through school I thought that I could not wait to get back to L.A. after I graduated. When I moved back, I lasted 9 months before I headed out again, this time it’s stuck for 29 years.
I come back to visit family and friends, but I don’t think I could really live there again long-term.
