Pyxidragon is gainfully employed again
While I applaud the goals of NPR, it seems my tolerance of their political guests is growing less as I get older. Is conservatism an indicator of that?

I’m a bastard and I never have. I’m totally one of those freeloaders who likes to sound smart at cocktail parties, but doesn’t want to pay for it.
I’ve been a member of KUNC for several years now, and I decided to donate to WBEZ because of their awesome program This American Life.
Really, it’s not that expensive. Don’t go out for a night and suddenly you’ve helped propagate something really important.
On that same note, I try to buy things from companies I like or people that are choosing to make less but do more. Sometimes I balk when it comes time to write the check, but I try.
My big hope is that one day someone will figure out a way to sustainably get more money to public schools and pay teachers more.
pinkthinkgirl has missed this place and feels like giving it an awkward bear hug
Yeah, I’m a Terry Gross geek. Love NPR!
Even though I’m living in the Uk right now, I podcast KPCC, KCRW, and The News Hour on PBS. So I send them money to show my support. Any amount will do.
I donate to WNYC and in addition to making me feel good about helping a worthy cause, and appeasing my guilt somewhat during member drives, I also have a really cool bag!
I belong to WYPR in Baltimore. I listen to that radio station during my commute, 40 minutes each way, and also on weekends. I really appreciate hearing the news delivered by smart people who aren’t angty right-wing nuts. I also love Car Talk, This American Life, On the Media, Justice Talking, and various other shows. I have to admit that I like getting a thank-you gift when I renew my membership every year, too.
