For 2006, I’d like to read all of the books on my bookshelf that have been sitting unread for years and many moves. They looked wonderful when I bought or aquired them but I just haven’t read them yet. I’ve started with the following list:
The Constant Gardner, John Le Carre
Sickened, Julie Gregory
Hunger Point, Jillian Medoff
It’s Called a Breakup Because It’s Broken, Greg Behrendt
Quirkyalone, Sasha Cagen
Dress Your Family in Denim and Corduroy, David Sedaris
The Idiot Girl’s Christmas, Laurie Notaro
My favorite was It’s Called a Breakup… after the end of a relationship last October. It’s been a great relief to read about others’ reactions and solutions to a painful time. I also LOVE Laurie Notaro’s books. She is hilarious and I’ve read and bought every one. David Sedaris is another favorite of mine, although these stories aren’t as wonderful as other books.
