How to be a drummer
How I did it: I begun playing at 17 with my friends from school, i belive its common to most bands, lololol! anyway, the first year was very difficult, but the challenge was very satisfying. And creating music with my friends, listening to different music, taking drumming lessons, speaking with fellow drummers, enlarged my experience! My band never reached superstardom, but my live performances were very funny! What i can share is that always be open to different music and try to be versatile. Rock On!
Lessons & tips: What i can say its that having lessons is a very important step to become a competent drummer. I spend 10 years strugling with technical doubts. I know that the web as all the info, but its not the same thing of having some1 teaching you! For the rest, play from the heart!

Before, I was referring to all manner of percussion. At this time, I am referring to a 5 pc. drum set.
Certainly worth doing. Very gratifying. It is extremely easy to drum, it’s learning technique and doing something creative that’s difficult. If you can learn to rub your stomach and pat your head at the same time, you can definitely learn to play the drums. I started 3 years ago and love it. It’s a lot of fun and a great workout.
Started when I was 8.
It’s the greatest thing I could possibly do with my life, and I hope I go somewhere with it.
I have been playing my drum for about six months now – learning from everyone I come in contact with and loving it. It has come very easily to me, probably because my brother is a professional drummer and I’ve been watching him for years. So, this weekend, I was at a festival and a friend convinced me to get out the drum and jam with her. Three other guys showed up and asked to sit in and somehow I found myself drumming for hours with two fiddlers, a dulcimer and a banjo player… thinking “omg… how did I get HERE?” Two of the guys playing were actual performers from the festival – it was SURREAL to find myself jamming with them, with a crowd of people around. No one would believe that I had never done this before. So I guess I can say “be a drummer” has been met as a goal, huh?
I finally found a drum circle in my community and had a great time, although now my hands hurt like hell :) It was great – it turned out I apparently was better at it than I realized and although I have a ton to learn, practice and pollination makes perfect.
