I’ve decided to put all of my zapchen adventures down under health even though in actuality there are several basically overlapping categories and they really could go in several spots. My first practice will be yawning. I will have completed the goal if I do conscious yawning for one week.

I take my eyesight for granted every single day. I have reading glasses, but neglect wearing them. I don’t give my eyes the rest they need and get all blurry eyed so often….. I hope to change that today…. Because…........
I experienced something so amazing today that shook me up. I took a few dear kiddos on a unique tour – a 50 min tour in the world of darkness. A blind guide led us through an maze of ordinary everyday routines in absolute darkness. I’m humbled and honored to have been guided through the confusing routine by a visually impaired individual who taught me to respect the other senses that I take for granted. I’m amazed at how in the absence of their eyesight, they still live their everyday life with such dignity and confidence. Latha (our guide) has done her Masters in Political Science and is working on a teaching Degree… The lump in my throat is not out of pity, but out of respect for the millions like her.
I love my eyes… and thank that divine force for the power of vision…...

During the Summer that passed, I fainted in the presence of someone really special. I had no control of what happened during those few mins…....
Something that stayed with me are how my eyes called out to him as I slumped down, the worried calling of my name… through the depths of my unconsciousness, The worried face, The broken voice, the sweat breaking out, the caring eyes, my fatigued body and the words that touched my early morning soul.
For the sake of the promises I made…. I will take care of my health!!!! 11 months ago
