you know how you really want to clean your sink sometimes, but the papertowels and cleaners are in another room and that demotivates you?
well, the dollar store can supply every room with its own cleaning bundle for a few bucks. and honestly, whatever cleaner the dollar store had worked wonders on the chrome fixtures. 1 month ago

the new rule is… when baking a frozen pizza, don’t just stand there for 18 minutes and do the “i’m so hungry” dance. do 5 minutes of light stretching with the yoga ball, then do the vacuum the living room, kitchen and bathroom dance :)
and then enjoy! 3 months ago

i bought several dusting things at the dollar store. going to keep one in every room and dust whenever i see it. even the kitchen has its own duster for the oven hood and top of the fridge.
i also bought one of these soap dispensing sponge handle things for dishes. no more messing with sponges and soap dispensing… just use the wand thing. convenient.
as long as i keep up with dishes and laundry, it feels ok. but i need to vacuum and sort through clutter on a more regular basis.
i don’t want to think about my closet. or mopping the floors. or the toilet/bathtub. 4 months ago

It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely presentable and i’m proud of the way it looks now. Alot of stuff was shoved in closets and thats ok, i’ll go through boxes later and organize. It was tough and i had to push myself all week to get it done. I can actually invite friends and family over now without cringing. I think i’ll have a small get-together sometime in the near future. Provided that i don’t completely clutter it up again. I’ll try hard to put things away and keep up with chores. 8 months ago

put all clothes away in closet along with random boxes, folded towels away, light vacuum, light dust, removed light stains on wall and door, fingerprints around the doorknob, got the stain out of the carpet 8 months ago

some friends came over and fixed my patio screen that was falling apart and fans, we fixed the curtains, moved the mattress, tried to get a stain out of the carpet, kind of cleaned the bathroom sink. i did the mirror, put in some light bulbs and moved some boxes out of the way and into a closet. running out of closet space, i’m going to have to actually hang my clothes and see if i can free up some more boxes.
we did this in a couple hours. lots more to do. 8 months ago

i got my first pinapple scented reed diffuser for my bathroom and it’s soooooo nice. i also got this really nice triple milled vanilla coconut soap. aromatherapy is AMAZING… it’s a great reward for cleaning my bathroom sink. i could do more though, there’s so much to do, it’s overwhelming. 9 months ago

cleaned the porch twice and it’s still pretty disgusting. i need to get out there and do the old-fashioned dustpan routine with the leaves stuck in corners… it’s pretty much what gutters look like in the corners. ah well, it’s a start.
sprayed cleaner in my sink and tub and got some clutter off the sink area… still needs good elbow grease though. and i should’ve removed ALL clutter before spraying, but maybe i’ll retouch when i do the mirrors next time. 9 months ago

I wanted to get my place immaculate, but i got through several of the main chores. Cleaned the kitchen, dishes, some laundry, vacuumed, got rid of some clutter, washed mirrors in my bathroom, emptied bathroom trash. Still lots more to do and organize. Didn’t even touch dusting. It just seems like i can never keep up with everything. 10 months ago

vacuumed the entire place, dusted the living room with a damp rag. swept the patio and got rid of all the leaves, watered it all down (it’s like 10 degrees cooler when i do that… i really need some plants out there). threw away the fake tree out there that kept falling over. did laundry (including the table cloth), dishes, cleaned out the fridge (and have actual food now). organized the living room a bit. replaced cardboard boxes with cute boxes i collaged. need to replace old, frayed posters with some art. i’m working on some canvas.
there’s several corners where junk just piles up, tons of boxes that need to be sorted out, i need to completely organize stuff in my bathroom. my room needs major work. i wish i could start over, except for the wall color, it’s pretty. i just need new furniture or upgrade it perhaps with paint or something perhaps. i don’t need an old tv, stereo and desk there either. everything’s unplugged and just taking up the entire room. feels claustrophobic a little bit. 13 months ago

laundry’s done, dishes are done, living room and bathroom are vacuumed, trash is taken out. i don’t even want to touch the bedroom or the patio leaves. i find myself just doing the bare minimum often… i really want to dust and deep clean. one step at a time i guess. 15 months ago

i was up at 4am, so what do i decide to do? rinse my patio off. i’m sure my neighbors love me. i didn’t get all of it though, because i felt bad for being loud. and i turned the nozzle down to a mist instead of a hard spray. don’t think it was too effective, it was too dark to see. but when the pressure was high for the first couple seconds, i’m pretty sure i got at least the main spot that was bugging me. 20 months ago

i vacuumed EVERYWHERE and dusted alot (i’m sure i missed a couple spots). there’s still halfway contained clutter everywhere, but that’s pretty much it now. i think i have all the bins and containers needed to contain everything, i just need to organize. and then detailing little things that annoy me. 20 months ago

after painting my bathroom, i pulled everything out, purged the stuff i didn’t need and carefully organized everything underneath the cabinets. yay! done. not doing that for another 5 years, thanks.
the word “purged” comes from watching 20 videos of malitose79 on youtube (she has 200+ videos on organizing/decluttering/cleaning)... and seeing her perfectly organized and “purged” of clutter home.
mentally, telling myself i need to purge my crap sounds like something serious vs “i need to throw stuff away grumble“
also, my friend came over the other day, so the stuff i’ve been putting off for weeks got done. vacuumed the living room, bathroom and kitchen. fantasticed the kitchen, including the range hood vent. threw all the papers into a large bag. crazy what one hour of “friend’s coming over, gotta clean asap” can do.
i also got inspired to vinegar away a spot on the carpet that was annoying me. 20 months ago

i threw away a bunch of crap out there, i actually got a scrubby pad and some fantastic… and removed the rust off the glass table.
and then i cleaned the bathroom a little. put stuff in the cupboard and wiped it down.
then took everything off the kitchen shelf and wiped it down.
there’s still TONS more to do. 21 months ago
