.That moment

When you connect with someone and they are talking about things that seem to come right out of your own mind and heart.
Wonderful! 5 months ago

.Castles

Max and Andrea were building lego castles and were playing with dragons and knights and had so much fun playing together. Max came downstairs to tell me about that (in many, many details…) and told me about how well the castle was built. “Mine is the black castle, it has a dungeon for the bad guys, a cage for the dragon and also internet access for playing games and to e-Mail pictures to Andrea.”

.Evolution

This morning in the car, my son made me laugh soooo much. It was just too funny!

He asked me:”Who was the first adult human being?”
I already told him a lot about evolution and showed him some pictures but the biblical stories he heard at kindergarten also made quite an impression on him so he combined them. “Now I know! God made the monkeys and two monkeys made one human!”
...that would explain a lot…

.Biking with my son

Max went to school on his own little bike for the first time today and did so well. He enjoyed it and it was fun to listen to him:
“Oh, the fresh air, it is soooo nice outside! And look at all the trees and the flowers…. Have you seen that flower there? And that house over there is beautiful. We should take this route all the time….”
He went on and on about all the beautiful things of which he found countless and when I told him how well he was doing, he thanked me for each little compliment as if he was given a medal. :)

It was quite a bike ride for such a little guy (3 km, going uphill most of the time), but he did great. We had a wonderful time together. 10 months ago

bermudamohawkpeace

Sitting in the courtyard near my office with an iced coffee, muffin, book, and notebook, reflecting on my July goals and reading about developing my intuition. Brick buildings and plants surrounded me. Such a beautiful way to spend my morning, even if I was 20 minutes late for work :) 10 months ago

bermudamohawkcatch

Yesterday I went to visit my dad, like I do every Tuesday. My dad decided that while dinner was cooking on the grill, we all needed to play a game of catch. He handed me the mitt I used as a kid (surprisingly, it still fits) and we spread out across the front yard. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve thrown a softball around, and I’m certainly not spectacular at it, but we had a lot of fun. I even laughed when I got hit the in the ankle. (And despite some of my wild throws, I didn’t injure anyone else!)

It really is the little things in life… 11 months ago

bermudamohawka morning phone call

My dad’s had a rough couple of days. We talked last night and I (the oh-so-strong person that I am) broke down crying because I was so mad at the unfairness in his situation. He seems to have come to terms with everything better than I have, but who knows. The truth of the matter is that it is what it is and there’s nothing more to do but to move on and accept these new changes as a part of life.

So this morning, just as I’m sitting down at my desk, my daddy calls me. I answer the phone only to have him SCREAM, “YOU have a GREAT DAY!” He went on to tell me about his good night and how he helped his team win their softball game.

It’s moments like this that make me feel like the luckiest girl alive. 11 months ago

joyjoeiMet with my 2 friends from high school today..

Rose came from the States to visit her family in Songkhla and she is going back tomorrow. So, before she leaves, I wanted to meet her for a meal and a catch up. While driving to see Rose, I called U and asked if she was free to meet me and Rose. Luckily, she just finished work. Rose didn’t know that U was coming too. So, it was a great surprise to Rose seeing U too. We had lunch at Deepree restaurant and then moved to EP coffee shop to drink tea, eat cakes and ice cream. It was a great day seeing them again after our last meet-up 2 years ago.. 11 months ago

joyjoeiTravelling with my sister

I told her that at least once a year we should backpack together, to somewhere old or new, I don’t care but we have to spend time roaming around together, without her husband and her son. I want a girlie trip with her. It makes us closer. We talked a lot while we were travelling together, not getting cuaght up with her husband or her son. With the trip to India, we had spent time talking daily, exchanged thoughts and ideas about life and we know that we are each other’s best friends. 12 months ago

.Coffee....

I promised the kids to switch on the computer to play some games this afternoon because they wouldbhave some time off with lots of rain outside – perfect to play a bit.

First we prepared a snack for the kids, some coffee for me and hot chocolate for them and I switched on the computer.
....at least I thought I did, but nothing was happening.
I tried all kinds of things, but it all didn’t help.
Andrea then mentioned to me that I switched on the wrong machine (there are several, don’t ask me which ones…). She was right, of course, and I corrected that mistake.
Without words, Andrea handed me my cup of coffee and then said:” I think you need this!”
;)

In the end, I still didn’t get that thing to work, but they are now watching a movie. That’s fun, too!

And my coffee was veeeery, very nice! 13 months ago

.The smile

After a bad day with many arguments and frustrations, I was sitting in my favorite chair reading a little bit.
Andrea:”Mama!”
She made it sound as if a pink cow just flew by, so I looked up
“You smiled!”
It made me smile even more.
“You should smile more often. It suits you!” 13 months ago

.A rainbow

Picking up Max from his play date yesterday, he was tired and hungry and just about to eat an apple and very upset with me for being there too early to take him home. He was crying and always repeated about the apple that he wanted to eat with his friend. Nothing I could do or say to comfort him.
And then we say a double rainbow.
He was quiet at once, stared at it with his mouth open and started to smile.
And he forgot about the apple.
